Sorry man, you can kill other people with swords, guns, and cannons; drink alcohol and steal; but we draw the line at cursing and gambling. Gotta protect the kids.
@worst-tdmer Sea of Thieves is PEGI 12, and it is this way because the 'fighting' is fantasy, when you kill a skeleton, player etc, they don't bleed out, they just vanish. PEGI 16 games would include wounds etc to a body. PEGI 12 also allows alcohol as long as it isn't portrayed in a way that promotes it in real life, in SoT it's there just for fun and roleplay. Protecting kids allows the game to be expanded to more people, allowing cursing would potentially raise the rating to PEGI 16+, and gambling would definitely raise SoT rating to PEGI 16.

They are not allowed to remove the filter
I don't think online interaction factors into the rating, otherwise all games with other players who can text/voice chat would be 18+.
I don't see an issue with being able to opt out of the profanity filter if you want.

Gabling is not only pegi problem but can be problem in few of EU countries. Becouse they lets say not so bright legislation there is no poker in RDO or in Fallout 76.
It's not like good buissnes decison to put resources is meaningless activity that you would have to gefence enyway.
Peofinity filter should be on off couse it's work hillariousy poorly with so much languages being used.
I can't write in chat "i have to be quiet my toddler is asleep" without its interfirence.
