You know what would be insane? If they added some sort of feature where they tracked the things players said in the text chat on their own game in their own servers. So when a player tells me to kill myself over and over with slurs attached the game would like... know that that person is spamming slurs instead of me having to take a video or screenshot. They can't ban someone for using slurs and hateful text speech in their own game for some reason without me having to provide them logs that I have to record myself of something that happened in their game on their servers. I would suggest they add something much more basic first, a feature to record the recent chat logs so we don't have to.
This. They only need to take a glance at Rocket League and their autoban system for toxic language. Each consecutive offense, the longer the ban.
They also have words/slurs that are ranked. Some slurs will automatically give you longer bans than some others (for example, the self-harm one that you mentioned on first offense is between 3d and a week, can't remember exactly, was quite some time ago), and also number of slurs stack on each other. So multiple slurs = longer ban. Rocket League's chat filtering system is amazing. I know this directly from the inside, cuz I was outsourced as tech support for 3y 😂 And had hundreds of ban appeal tickets. There were 3 tiers of slurs, at that time (2019-2022). Don't know about before/after.
Idk if I maybe had 2 false positive flag cases for that entire time.
Problem solved. Clowns would instantly learn how to behave.
The only reason I think why they still didn't do this (or won't do it), is if they don't wanna deal exactly with those hundreds upon hundreds of ban appeals. That's my best guess. Idk if they have enough workforce to deal with all of the emotional losers lol.
At one point, in Psyonix there was around 120 tech/customer support agents across the entire support team (including L2 and L3 agents), some of them moved from Epic after they acquired Psyonix.
Can't say the same for Rare.
