Sea Of Legends - PIRATE LEGEND EXPANSION

  • So hello again Rare, as the community understands we desperately need a new update that radically revamps content. And best way to go about doing that is by expanding the open world.

You might think, why? We already have been doing that. True but you have missed something. With the removal of the ARENA, lots of players and true pirates hunger for an experience where they can gain epic rewards and glory. So I propose that we immediately begin developing a new area probably somewhere around the devils roar called the iron isles. Or maybe call it THE SEA OF LEGENDS.

This area is of course meant for, you guessed it, PIRATE LEGENDS! Only the finest pirates can roam the iron isles. Giving returning and new players more reason to roam the seas. Such new waters could be filled with treacherous electric eels, instead of sharks, and an interesting skeleton outpost that would be the main out post of the region. So while you battle it out in the Iron isles, all players head to the same main outpost. Where they gain more gold. Once you gain enough reputation my favourite thing happens one of the NPC’s will give you a chance to search and hunt a mysterious sea creature known as the leviathan!

This creature will be a boss fight much like the kraken awarding commendations and the chance for rare doubloons to be awarded if you bring back the rare eye of the Leviathan. The islands hopefully can be diverse littered with traps.

Over time the sea of legends could change, but remember to keep the spirit of adventure in mind so they have reason to be here instead of trashing low levels back over where the sea of thieves mainly is.

Feedback appreciated just thought of this today and want to return always to the game that once gave me joy, some times simple things make a huge difference.

  • I wouldn't hold my breath.

I doubt there's gonna be any new areas added. Not at least until they improve server performance. But even then there's also a limitation of this custom UE4 engine.

Most likely we're gonna have to wait for SoT 2 for any major map changes/expansions, because game (and servers) just can't take much more in the current state.

PS. also, even when SoT 2 happens (if it happens), I wouldn't bet Rare would decide to split their playerbase to low and high rank areas.

A better ranking/matchmaking system? More ships per server? Bigger map? Why not, if UE5 can take it.

But everyone will most likely be part of the same adventure, just as they're now.
