Make sloops the fastest
Every ship has it's advantages and disadvantages, and knowing the details of your own ship helps tremendously. The sloop happens to be the fastest against wind.
@europa4033 Is that still true? I thought they changed that. I'm pretty sure going into the wind a galleon can still catch a sloop.
The sloop is the fastest already; towards the wind. Even with slight wind it will match the other ships. Play on a Brig and you will notice that you can't catch a sloop at all. Even when the sloops sails are slightly off due to the big nerf they did a while back on Brigs.
Why would a Galleon catch a sloop going towards the wind?
The smaller the ship, the faster you are towards the wind.
