water running down your screen when you leave the water. thoughts?

there was a change years ago where they had made water run down the screen as you would leave the water. im guessing insiders had a negative reaction to this. i was fine with it as a fan of metroid prime one of my favorite things was seeing rain drops hit the visor. i guess an argument could be made that it doesnt sit as right if we arent wearing some kind of helmet to watch the water run down but what if it were an effect that was applicable if we were wearing something that covered our eyes?
