Ways to give use to old content

  • ammo
No more infinite ammo on ships. All ships should the 500 ammo count limit requiring everyone to find or buy ammo crates occasionally. Ammo crates would be sold by armory or found on sea forts. Ammo crates can refill ship supply instead of be an reload weapons. Full Ammo crates can be sold to smugglers.

    Kegs
Kegs no longer are dangerous unless filled with gunpowder. Use gunpowder barrels to fill kegs shells. Filled kegs still obtainable via skellies, keg rowboats, and Athena. Gunpowder barrels decrease in explosive power and value the more it's used similar to other weapons. Stronghold kegs consume half a gunpowder barrel while a normal takes a quarter.

    Rum bottles and grog limitations
Rum bottles can be drinkable, empty ones can be used as message in bottles. Every rum bottle used decreases it's value. Add rum and grog barrels to refill ships grog supply. Rum and grog barrels sold by taverns or found on enemy and sunken ships. Rum bottles can be packaged to sell to merchants by finding empty rum bottles and filling them with the correct rum barrel. All variants will have their one barrel and only found in respective region. For example devils rum is only obtained in devils roar.

    Skeleton curse
With all the skeleton themed pirate emporium cosmetics we have I'm surprised the haven't been repurposed into skelly curse cosmetics or at least usable while skelly curse is active. Also death with skelly curse should be the same with order of bone and blade. But instead of the ferry of the damned it would be more unique to skeletons. Also the revival would be similar to the skelly coming out of ground. Skeleton lord curse obtainable at 1000 hg would grant all skeleton Lord abilities except teleporting but make player slower and tanky, and anyone with a skeleton curse will have three skeleton followers with them. However well having the skeleton lord curse active the new mechanic with the reaper's chest will not work for the crew that has a skeleton lord and only a captain can become the skeleton lord. Or there's a way to have a temporary skeleton lord transformation like drinking a potion of some kind.

Stopped reading after the first point. Those who double gun would be at a severe disadvantage. Horrible idea.

  • Ammo: This is monumentally stupid. 50 shots and you run out? So basically I just have to count 50 shots and when they're done I can shoot my opponent all I want and they can't fight back. Also how does that affect the armoury? When you take out a weapon from the armoury it has full ammo. Would you take the weapon out empty and then have to use the ammo box for it? That's stupid, and would ruin gameplay for anyone who uses guns. As a sword user, I can easily dodge and survive for 50 shots, and then my sword has infinite ammo.

Kegs: What's the point of a keg if its not full? Why do you want to add more mechanics to something that doesn't need more mechanics? Nobody is grabbing kegs for any reason other than to blow someone up.

Rum Bottles and Grog: What does this accomplish? No for real, what does it accomplish in terms of gameplay? Why do I care if my ship has a specific type of fake alcohol to get fake drunk on? It would just be a different label to do the same effect. It's also adding more useless gameplay for no reason. Who cares about making messages in a bottle? Cargo runs are one of the least done things in the entire game.

Skeleton Curse: They will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever put hourglass cosmetics behind a paywall. Imagine you pay for it and realise that you now need to spend 50+ hours playing a game mode to even be allowed to use your new cosmetic. No one wants that. There is only one ferry of the damned, the ferry is not a "good guy" boat, there is no equivalent for flameheart in the sea of the damned.

1000HG: No. Rare changed a sail because people could see too much with it and it wasn't fair to lock being able to see slightly better behind PL and 8 million gold. They will not add a game mechanic locked behind 500+ hours of hard grinding. What would even be the point of adding that? How many players would even get to use it? A couple hundred at most? Pointless mechanic. As well, what is the athena equivalent? They cannot give one Hourglass faction something without giving an equivalent to the other. If they added skeleton lordship, it would have to be accessible by all players, no matter what. From day 1s to first dayers.

  • So um... let's recap this, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong (I'm not 😂):

    1. "I'm mainly a sword player so I want gunners nerfed."
    2. "I got kegged way too often and sunk cause of that, so I'd like the frequency of that happening nerfed as well."
    3. "I find Merchants voyages boring and/or tedious, so I'd like to progress commendations outside of them."
    4. Something something "I want an advantage of having bonus perks/special treatment only available to us who do PvP" something something

In any way... i'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request.

    Means NO.

  • @acnologia1403 Matey, these people are complaining for those 5 mins it takes to resupply before HG; thus I don't think they will go for more tedious tasks before the battle starts.

  • @r3vanns most of this stuff is more of immersive and because a I want more of a challenge and a reason to use guns I find guns to Op and have no reason to use them.
Surprisingly I rarely deal with kegs except with skeletons most kegs I end up burying but I would love the ability to just make my own kegs
Why is every update have to be fighting why can't there be just a way to have Variety in a calmer Style. Besides kind of gets annoying seeing all those kind of rum and not being able to use them that's kind of the main point on that one
The last one was mostly not really a serious idea but it would be interesting seeing some skeleton Lords as for the skeleton Cosmetics that are in Pirate Emporium I just want the ability to be able to use them while I'm also in the skeleton curse that way I can use the skeleton emojis in those costumes they can be used out and in

  • @potatosord okay 50 might be a bit low I admit maybe 500.
As for the rum The Message in a Bottle thing would be just for fun as for the variety of rum Maybe different rum has a different effect like say drinking Devil's rum would make it to where you start spitting fire for about 10 seconds maybe five. Why wouldn't there be risk you still have to carry one of the most deadliest explosives that's coming to the game in order to fill them. if anything you're at higher risk. Besides it wouldn't remove the possibility of finding them naturally like already filled it's just adds a new way of getting kegs for those that want a more immersive playthrough

Even though I may still not agree with, or just find some of the suggestions in the realm of "whatever" (or not seeing point in some of them), I do appreciate your effort of explaining your points in more detail, while not making drama about me being a bit sarcastic. 😅

Genuinely pleasantly surprised here, so yea, cheers for that.

Now regarding suggestions - I can at least agree with the role play aspect of rum. I wouldn't mind having a second type of drink (rum), even if only for immersion reasons.

Though if you wanna include a mechanic such as one you've suggested, it would need to make sense in terms of some sort of benefit, which might be hard to figure out in an already pretty well balanced game, and because Rum is already in the game.

The reason why I'm saying this, is because grog is free, and infinite. So you'd either have to make Rum free and infinite as well (not gonna happen, cuz Rum already being a part of merchant voyages), or you'd have to give me an incentive of drinking the Rum (which results in it's lowered cost per bottle as you've suggested) while somehow still maintaining balance in the game, in the terms of price cut vs buff

Hmmmm... maybe some special type of Rum that gives you short amount of water breathing? I could make my peace with something like that.

  • @r3vanns honestly one of the only reasons I would want Limited on the rum is so I can say "why is the rum gone"

HAH! Fair enough 😂 appreciating the honesty

  • Just add “wet ammo” for those deep sea divers who stay in the water to long trying to board.

Wet ammo will still hurt (kill weak targets) but not enough. Having to use ammo crate/box to clean it up.
And if someone throws a bucket of water on a pirate, while they have a gun weapon. Instant wet ammo. (I just like to see the bucket used more than for bailing)

  • @burnbacon I like this idea
