Pickpocketing - Crouching Expansion

  • While crouched behind players or skeletons, you can pickpocket their supplies. Occasionally, skeletons may have orders or a special voyage or two

  • You know what, I’d actually go for this!

  • It be fun against skeletons. But players. No so

Not many players are just…standing still.

That is exactly why it should be a mechanic. You might get the occasional pirate who goes AFK or are fishing, imagine stealing a fish from their pocket. If anything, skeletons would be harder since they aggro so easily.

Would be a hilarious mechanic overall.

  • Players sand still all the time, at cannon, using spy glass, at wheel, map table etc.

Being able to pick take all their supplies would be really cool but should take longer than raiding a barrel.

Only being able to steal one item at a time would be balanced. Different item and multiple items of the same type require "repicking."

So you sneak up behing them, do the pick pocket prompt.
One of each item type appears as an option.
Select the one you want and the inventory closes.
    You can pick again.

  • Time to put more "Thieves" into Sea of Thieves, whether for PvE only, or players as well. Great stuff for immersion/RP. You have my upvote.

  • Yeah after spending 5 hours tucked on ships or sneaking around outposts. And finding, watching players.
Not a single player stands still enough for you to get close and have a moment to push a button, grab something and make an escape or get caught. (Too much stealth for a action pack game)

It be an idea. Silly. Just like the season of misfits update. Nobody will bother using the tactic ever afterwards. Kind of a waste but still fun against npcs

  • I can't agree with this. I think pockets are the one place that is safe and we kinda need that. It would be unbalanced because it would allow a player to go to a player while their pockets are empty, and potentially completely empty their pockets, denying them an adequate chance to defend themselves.

  • This would be an incredibly niche feature that wouldn't work 90% of the time.
Meanwhile it has the potential to cause a new generation of cheats, that would make it possible to raid player inventorys at all times.

Honesty i don't think its worth the effort or the risk.

  • Would be cool. My first thought was would be quite difficult to code but if I recall there is a commendation for hiding behind someone as one of the tuck emotes for several seconds so there must be some code already there.

Guarantee people would find a way to dupe glitch items using this, timed place into barrel at same time as pickpocket 😅

So there would be a butch of instances where this would work and be quiet handy
