Sea of Thieves Audio

    Okay so i have a audio question. Not sure if this is more Windows or Sea of thieves related but hopefully the community can help me with it.

    When i play Sea of Thieves and i use my headphones (Steelseries Arctis Nova 7) i hear all sounds. Perfect. But in the summer like now when its hot... i will save you the details. I'd rather not wear headphones.

    I have studio monitors for audio as well. Rokit 5 G3. Perfect audio with nice bass, love it. But i dont hear some sounds. For example when i adjust the sails perfect on a burning blade you should hear a sound like you had a big victory...you should know the sound,
    but i dont hear it. It's like im missing some sounds which i can hear on my headphones.

    Is this a sea of thieves setting?
    Or a windows setting?

    It feels like i have 5.1 selected somewhere where it should be 2.0 in my case but when i checked all my settings its just set to stereo.
    My audio card in my pc is realtek. I connected my speakers with 3.5mm jack to XLR.

    Any ideas?

    @lord-sinker Ahoy there.

    I don't really know the answer to your problem, but I have an idea for you to test:

    1. connect your fully working headset, start SoT and record a short playing session (~5 mins)
      make sure to capture all the sounds you want to hear (for later)
    2. now close SoT, connect your other headset and play the video file of the recording

    This way you can see if your 2nd headset can play the same sounds as your first one
    and since it is an recording of the actual audio, you can compare both headsets easily.

    Now if your 2nd headset is working fine with the audio file, you know that it is SoT related setting.
    But if your 2nd headset is missing any sounds within the audio file, then you know that is either
    a) audio settings in windows (or headset driver?)
    b) XLR to 3.5mm connector issue

    hope this can bring you closer to the solution.
