Lazybeard timer for solo needs an increase.

  • Super annoying to me that I can't even take my dog out to use the bathroom without getting lazybearded. If I want to make food, wife needs me, anything, I can't comfortably go AFK. Having a kick mechanic isn't a problem, but specifically for solos this timer needs to be more forgiving.

While I understand and agree that people going afk for any exploitative reason needs to be avoided, the current state makes me feel like I can't get up or handle anything IRL during a session.

Just lost about 4 hours worth of supplies because my dog had to go out. Parked at Shores of gold to not get attacked, came back and of course, Lazybeard. Great design, really. (not)

  • @unruly-knee you have 10 minutes for lazybeard and 40min for sleepybeard (no interactions). just grab a weight or a rubberband if you need just over 10 and you should be good. The goal is to keep the servers alive, not have afk pirates. I get your frustration, but its not bad design, its design you dont like.

  • It’s a player issue.
Real life events. Always! Come first. Be responsible for your actions and decide for yourself. Is gaming more important?

There are ways to slightly extend your timer. Disguises for one. But it you the player who is at fault. (4 hours of stuff?)

  • I have cooked meals while sailing without getting lazy bearded. You know how long things take and you know that if something comes up you might have to do it. Try to come up with ways to plan around that. It's an online game. It doesn't matter what loot or supps you have, you are taking up a spot on a server. You are doing nothing on that spot on the server. It doesn't matter what you have, it matters what you do. If they just let people sit for like 30 minutes before AFKing them the servers would be even slower and even worse. You have to understand that this timer exists outside of you. This timer exists for so many reasons. It exists to stop people from intentionally wasting server space to make the servers slower. It exists for people who fall asleep on the game so they don't take up server space. It exists to stop people from just leaving the game on and doing something else, wasting server space. It exists so that when you crash or disconnect unintentionally, if you don't come back, it frees up that server space. Play the game when you want to play the game and don't when you have other stuff to do. Plan around how long things take. You know you are never getting into and out of this game in less than an hour to do something. If you really really really need to do something and you really really really need to take up that extra server slot for 20 minutes, take your controller with you and wiggle the sticks. If you have to go further away than your controller connects, just turn the game off.

  • Safer Seas = Yes the timer could be longer.

High Seas = No, it's fine as is. You need to keep an eye on what's going on in the world, mainly other players coming at you.

It's a multiplayer game game not an idle simulator.
