Idle Timer is very Bad.

  • I bought the game to occasionally relax. Started as a single player in the quiet water.

I was only 5 minutes of coffee or go to the toilet, I flew off the server and everything about progress has been gone, I didn't pay any money for that, that's not normal.

I hope the AFK times will be adjusted a bit that single players do not have to sit on the PC and 💩 themselves ...

Come on mate, be honest... we all know you brought phone with you to the toilet. We've all done that, and still do. It was not 5min 😂

PS. if you sneak+hide in a chest/barrel, I guarantee you you're at least 10min safe. Tested it lol. But yea... forget the phone, or work on that... paper technique 😭

  • Be responsible
If you have to go long time. It best to save yourself and just end your session.
No need to sit idle and take up space. That silly

  • It's an online only game, you take up server space by being on the game. If you are taking up server space and not doing anything for long enough they kick you. That's how it works in every game. 5 minutes is a pretty normal timer.

  • I have played a few online games so far and nowhere was the counter so scarce. I logically block the server space afterwards when I continue to play, so that should be irrelevant.

It is not so that I go online and then just run away, that would be a waste of server space.

  • @potatosord its absolutely not normal for a game like sea of thieves, where any kind of actual progress can take hours. i once lost tons of loot because i had to take a dump. people need to eat, use the toilet, have a ciggy.... its not normal for a game that takes this long to do anything at all to kick you out in 5 minutes of being idle. some people reported even getting kicked while browsing the stores. the timers are absolutely diabolical, its completely delusional to think otherwise

  • @captain-kirn
Never saw the Lazybeards as an issue.
You have 10 minutes to be afk and then you get kicked.
If you're gone for longer than those 10 minutes, then you should sell before going afk.
You could also play with other people who invite you back when you're ready.

In 4 years it never happened to me that i lost anything to beeing afk.

  • @captain-kirn I've literally cooked meals while sailing without getting lazybearded. Just manage your time better. Take your controller with you or rig up something to spin the analog stick or hit the jump button over and over again if you are certain you will take longer than 5 minutes

    I’ve timed it. It’s 10min unless I’m missing something.

You can extend the timer slightly with few tricks. Emoting, holding a button with something or even hiding (using the new disguises)

Everything else. Nothing takes long time to do anymore. That all the player.
If you need to eat? That means it time to quit. If you wanna idk snack? Gamers always bring snacks to there gaming session.
As for bathrooms. 1 or 2, depending. You might as well also cut your session if your gonna be awhile. No shame in that.

Many games like SoT have had idle timers. Some much shorter even during story quests and I check points.

It’s all the players responsible to manage their own time. Not the games.
