We want to have a second body that we can put in tall the cosmetics we have unlocked. No one who has been playing this game for more than a year will ever get a second pirate because they won't be able to have any of the exclusive cosmetics they've unlocked. That was the whole point of a second pirate. We want to be able to keep all our gear, but use it on a different body. I like my pirate and I will not be using an appearance potion on him, but I don't want to always be my main pirate. I would prefer a way to play as a different pirate with all my unlocked cosmetics. As it stands, I see no reason to buy another pirate, and I don't think the vast majority of players will either. From a roleplay standpoint it actually makes things worse because those new pirates will forcibly not have access to anything including PL gear and unlocks and anything from previous seasons that is still in the game will cost more doubloons than it will ever be worth to try to get
Pirate profile misunderstanding
@potatosord I think that if you buy a new pirate profile, it would be better if before you roll for the new pirate the game should ask you if you would like to unlock all the commendations you have already completed or if you would like to start your commendations from scratch. I think there would be positives for both and encourage the use of this feature.
I don't think I could bring myself to start another profile and not stay loyal to my 9000+ hours day one pirate. And the risk is to great that my new pirate ends up getting a shrouded ghost! I would be so (what's the words I am thinking) if that happened with the wrong Pirate that I would never forgive myself. So the new profile is not for me.
@madmark1961 That's actually a good point. If I make a new pirate, and that one sees the shrouded ghost, I straight up will uninstall and never play again. If they made commendations and cosmetics carry over between pirates (literally who thought it was a good idea to not) then I wouldn't care, but as it stands, that would actually just straight up bother me to the point of hating this game.
