This post is purely to address issues and game bugs that only controller players must learn to live with, AND SHOULDN'T HAVE TO!! If you play controller and would like equal ground in the small things on Sea of Thieves, vote this post up!
-Switch weapons and secondary interact cannot be different inputs
This causes major issues with opening crates when attempting to swap weapons. Fights with crates on deck literally force us to open crates, then delay/cancel our input to move (crate close animation) or swap weapons after closing the crate. For the record, players have asked for this since launch. If you search the forums for this topic, you'll see 50+ PAGES of posts about this
-Weapons cannot be swapped near the map table
If you can see the interact prompt from the map table (with sitting prompts disabled) you CANNOT swap weapons. It's almost like there's supposed to be a secondary interact option that the game is waiting for the input to activate, but clearly there isn't one so it's just blocking the swap weapon action
-Pressing the interact button while sprinting cancels sprint
This is for both sprinting on solid ground, and in water. The biggest issue with this is boarding ladders. M&K players can just mash the interact option, and keep sprint-swimming, and wait for the prompt to grab the ladder to appear and they can't miss it. Controller players must time it perfectly in order to continue moving quickly and make the ladder. For those instances where you are right at the edge of ladder-grab distance, this ruins it. This only became an issue within the last year or two by the way, something changed that affected this mechanic
Please add additional issues to this thread that should be addressed, primarily issues that should give controller players equal ground if we choose to play controller against M&K players in areas that should not be crippling us further. This post is NOT for complaining about M&K players, or suggesting that they be crippled in any way
