Hello, my friend and I have never experienced this much unstable connection. Last night and today all of the sudden the game is literally unplable. Is anyone else having this issue and if so has anyone found and fixes? We live in opposite areas so ISP outages isnt an issue. We have rebooted games, routers, pc and all. The only quick fix has been to disconnect and reconnect from wifi which will only fix it for about 3 minutes to get out of an emergency. It literally seems like were the only people. Just wanted to check and see what else is going on out in the world.f
Unstable Connection
Had the same problem on my end since this new season. Practically unplayable most of the time. Hope they get this fixed asap. I am on Xbox Series S. Never had problems like this before. The rubber banding and lag is at an all time high
I'm even having unstable connection in safer seas. Just hopped on to chill and get loot, but trying to load up a storage crate and I get the symbol. Then I get on my sloop and start sorting cannon balls, wood, and food, and next thing I know, my ships underwater and I haven't even left port. I've been getting unstable connection for the past couple weeks and I'm on PS5. Idk if that makes a difference. Also using wired connection.
Same, trying to load in I'm often sitting at 'Loading Supplies' for 2-3 minutes before getting in, and then when I am in, there is an unstable connection warning popping up every few minutes.
My shipmate and I both got timed out of a Safer Seas session just a few minutes ago after an unstable connection warning, now we can't get past the 'Loading Supplies' screen trying to start a new session.
I've never had this issue before, and have been playing since 2021 (on PC via Steam). Last night the game was unplayable with "unstable connection" in the top corner and profound lag and rubber-banding. However; when I stopped using the keyboard; and used my Xbox controller the game functioned. It seems that the connection is unstable while holding any keyboard input for more than a fraction of a second. Bizarre! And I have no idea how to address this; or where such an error came from!
The past two months we've been playing SoT at home: one of us is on laptop and the other on Xbox S. Constantly getting the "unstable connection" icon in the corner. We've been thinking it's our Verion Wireless Internet, but I'm seeing comments in this thread stating even with fiber connections they're having this particular issue. We've even tried taking a few of our devices off the wifi for when we play and considering switching internet provider but, if folks are having this problem hard-lined, maybe it's not our internet. Thanks for posting. -jj
I've had an urge lately to play some SoT myself (haven't played it for about a year or so), and decided to hop in with a friend on Safer Seas the other. Had a LOT of issues with the ship yeeting into the air several times during our 2-3 hour session. It also seemed to sink at a point too, but it just glitched out on us. We got the "Connection unstable" once or twice, but the issues happened without the warning as well.
Decided to hop on today on my own to chill on safer seas, and the session started with my ship disappearing, and then suddenly spawning ABOVE the island I spawn on after I accidentally accepted a tall tale (I saw book, thought it was a collectable, lol). Had less ship yeeting issues after that, but all of a sudden I got the connection warning, started lagging/rubberbanding, then got kicked off my session, with a bunch of loot still on my ship.Needless to say, I don't have the urge to play the game anymore... And sadly I think some milder variation of this issue was the reason I stopped playing this game frequently in the first place...

"The issue seems to be with the keyboard. Holding more than 1 second freezes the game / causes extreme lag spikes. It probably has to do with the fact that when you are holding down a key, it will input multiple times, probably overloading the server/game somehow. Hoping this gets fixed soon!"This is my issue as well. Something happened to us keyboard and mouse user that the keyboard and mouse function cause major rubber banding (Mine is more keyboard. When holding w for to long or shift. Holding interaction wheel etc.) in Sea of Thieves. When I use my controller no issues.

In short, at least for me, ever since they introduced that connectivity icon everything went to hell 😂
Since I started playing SoT I never saw my ship fly. Just in the last month, every session, several times per session. All sorts of glitches, rubberbanding, etc.
It's really starting to become embarrassing. They need to actually start fixing this asap, and not just yap on YT how they'll do it.
Imagine trying to pitch paid subscription for custom servers, while having such an overall bad server experience. Who in sane mind would want to pay extra for that lol. To organize an event just for half people to dc as soon as they connect 😭
There is clearly something wrong with Sot and network at the moment. I have 1gb up and down and no issues with any services other than sea of thieves. I have been playing since pre launch and in all that time had network flags / disconnections a handful of times. Last 2 days I have been getting network issues flags and disconnected multiple times. My brig crew spent more time last night being a crew of 2 or 1 than three as we all dropped at random points. It is getting so bad I worry about the network more than other crews when doing forts. Come on Rare / Microsoft please sort it out.
@intact3443 Have the same issue, i play hg and all of a sudden im rubberbanding like crazy, but the enemy hits everycannon and is not effected of the lag
PS5 here. Internet nothing special but enough to handle just about any other game with little to no lag.

High/Open seas is unavailable to me. The game will not connect to it. It cycles between "looking for server" and "connecting" for anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes and then gives me Cinnamon beard. This has been the case since I reinstalled it a few weeks ago.

I can play Safer Seas, but not without rubberbanding and ship yeeting.

Consistently have "Unstable Connection" in the upper left corner. Ping is always between 80ms - 120ms. If the game crashes or I lose connection it is GAME OVER. Can not reconnect and have to start a new sail. Tried everything over the past week to fix but it is still an issue. So now I will just complain about it here and not play anymore. :(
