I would really like it if the loading screen was quicker its very inconsistent sometimes it takes seconds sometimes it takes 30-45 seconds just to get back from the ferry for my ship to be sunk, I would appreciate if this was fixed soon
Loading screen time
@pr070p13 Not really anything that can be done on the game’s end. When it loads fast, it usually means there’s not much going on around you. If it takes longer, it’s likely loading in nearby ships, players, loot or world events. It’s not broken, just depends on what’s happening where you’re spawning.
Best you can do is make sure your setup’s good. Faster internet can help. If you’re on PS5, try running it off an M.2 drive for quicker loads. If you're on an older Xbox, upgrading to a Series X or even using cloud streaming might speed things up.

I'm stuck on old gen so that might be the problem but even though I am, it's really hard to do anything when the loading screens that long
Yeah, I used to play on old gen before upgrading when X dropped, and even back then it was barely playable. I can only imagine how much worse it is now, lol. Honestly, Rare should just disable High Seas for old gen and keep Safer Seas as the only option. PVP is almost unplayable at this point anyway. Might even give some people the final push to upgrade.
@pr070p13 do you have fast Internet? I knew someone who was on old gen but fast Internet and when he used cloud play instead of installed game his loading times would match ours on next generation Xbox. You will have odd connection issue as trade off but maybe worth a try
@pr070p13
What are you playing on? When I used to play on the newest Xbox One it would take forever for loading screens. I would get killed during a fight and literally be listening to my ship get smashed and sink while I'm still looking at a black screen waiting to load in.When I upgraded to an Xbox series X it was like night and day difference!

Invest in a better external hard drive or SSD. The stock hard drive in the Xbox One is SLOW, only 5400 RPM, and that is what leads to long load times. If you get an external USB SSD and install the game there, you will see a huge difference in loading times - more in the range of 10 seconds or less. Even a higher speed external USB drive will help, making sure the drive speed is 7200 RPM. A little slower than the SSD but still much faster than the internal drive. The hard drive is less expensive, but many manufacturers make it difficult to find the drive speed anymore on pre-built externals. I've used a bare drive in a USB dock until I upgraded to a SSD, that way I was sure of the speed of the drive.
The other option is more expensive, and that is to invest in a Series S or X (or PS5 if it suits your fancy). Since all these use SSD based storage, the load times are very fast when mermaiding to ship or returning from the ferry.
