Reaper Representatives at Outposts

  • So, I know lore-wise it wouldn't make sense for reaper representives to be at outposts. But to fix that, you could just have some dialogue on the reaper representives explain how Order of Bone & Blade skeletons helped the reaper representives to get on each Outpost since I'm assuming the trading companies don't like the Reaper's. But this is a huge problem for me, having to sail all the way to Reaper's Hideout is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. Look at Hunter's call, they got representatives on each outpost. And I know we have the reaper skeleton at each outpost already, but I want a actual reaper Representive dressed in Reaper's bones clothing and you can sell any item to them for the Reaper's bones. And not just emissary flags and notebooks like you can with the skeleton representives

  • Mike Chapman has confirmed that they will be expanding additional turn in spots for Reapers so it will be coming soon™️. Where and how many spots? He didn’t say! We’ll find out eventually I guess ^^

That's the whole point of Reapers, it's supposed to be hard. Not easy.

One place to hand in loot and more chance of enemy confrontation while trying to hand in, slow hand in getting resources off the boat = High reward.

Too many people want the high reward without putting the hard work in.

  • @captdirtyoar That just doesn't work out for PVP either. In my experience, I've barely ever gotten rolled up on my anyone while at the reaper's hideout. Even with loot, so what's the point of there only being one sell spot that people don't even care about?

    Risk vs Reward.

  • I am not keen on more reapers hand in spots. I do like we can turn in flags and logs should be alloweed too but lore wise I would think it makes more sense for the reaper tables being at each of the skeleton camps (BB islands) instead. Why would the outposts even allow a reaper table there? Rest of the loot to reapers.

Currently its too easy to sell at outposts. The sovereigns should take a cut of the gold, and not count towards accommodations, meaning if you want to hand in that Athena's chest or COF you have to go to the Inn with the Mysterious Stranger or the Gold Hoarder for the extra gold and accommodation. This also means you can intercept them rather than guessing which one they will hand in to.

  • @miserenz The skeleton camps would work as well tbh, since the trading company's would probably never allow the reaper's to have representives on the outposts.

As someone who plays reaper primarily, I am not a fan of this idea, especially with the new commendations. Currently turning in the gold skulls is a blast, and if they can be sold anywhere the excitement of turning them in/stealing them is completely lost.

Reapers is a risk vs reward decision, and the turn-in location is part of that decision.

  • Maybe let generous and humble gifts be sold to the outpost skelly. I recently got all my gift coms done and it was moderately painful. Gifts aren't worth that much, and letting people leave them at every outpost might encourage people to turn them in.

  • @capt-greldik Yeah, but the problem is mainly a one-spot sell location. There isn't any risk for selling it there, like I mentioned, I usually don't get contended AT all when I go to Reaper's hideout. If I do, I usually just bury my items on a island or something and wait for them to stop fighting me and leave.

The risk is dependent on who wants what you’ve got. If you’re stacking fotd, just completed a fof, or selling one of the recent gold skulls (I forget the name) then there’s a good chance someone might head to reapers in order to take your items. The golden skulls are currently creating a LOT of fighting around reapers. I’m currently 12/15 for the commendation (steal them while wearing skelly curse) and have been going after every gold skull I see, often leading to fights at or around reapers.

I don’t completely disagree, though, more often than not one can sell their items at reapers without interference.

We had a three hour battle at Reapers Hideout last night trying to hand in. We were trying to hand in 9 Caskets of Gilded Bones and some urns which we got from the quest (great quest btw). Everyone on the map wanted it from us. We worn them down, even carried a couple by swimming in and handing the Caskets in.

It was intense and fun. It's more hazardous tyring to hand in at reapers thanks to the new reaper season. More reapers waiting around for hand ins by other boats.

We normally finish playing around midnight, we kept going until 3am so it was a long session.

  • The balance for reapers as it was originally intended to attack or be attacked, was that unlike other factions, their trade off for being able to see all emissaries at grade 5 is that they can always be seen, and always have to sell at 1 spot that offers higher rewards for everything rather than other emissaries that have either a weaker buff or only take 1 type of loot.

The way it is set up is by design due to the perks of selling to reapers.
