Reapers on Safer Seas (to an extent)

  • For the newer players who want to try reapers, I wish there was a way to get practice on safer seas. It’s a hot take, however, if there was a way to spawn skeleton ships that attack it the way that pvp goes in a higher seas. That way when those players feel comfortable enough to be a reaper in a higher seas server, versus diving head first into reapers without knowing how or what to do and being ambushed by better players all the time and losing the emissary time and time again. I would love to do reapers with my little brothers, but because they are inexperienced and are newer to the game, it’s harder to play with a reapers emissary with them. Even if you made it harder to level up the promotion on safer seas with reapers, but just being able to practice it with a practice pvp could be beneficial to new players to understand better what they want to do.

“The design and intent for Safer Seas…” etc.

    You get the point.

  • Are Skeleton Ship raids not available in Safer Seas? Genuine question, I have no idea.

If they are, use that to practice. Otherwise take advantage of the world events that are available that are ship based.

If none of that is available at the time, you can always practice by sailing around rocks and aiming for a specific point. Rocks in the middle of the seas are best because they'll still have waves that toss your ship around and affect your aim.

  • The best way to learn, is just by going out and doing it. Log on, raise reapers, don't bother getting treasure, and just look for a ship to fight in order to practice. Safer Seas didn't exist for me when I was new to the game. To get better at pvp, I had to die and sink quite a number of times (more than I can count) in order to gain experience and realize what I could've done differently. Record your sessions, and re-watch them to go over the fight, see what and where you can improve. Yes you're going to sink a lot, but that comes with learning. You have nothing to lose if you start up a ship, raise the flag, and go out and practice. You don't need a specially-made AI pvp ship in Safer Seas for that.

Practice what? Raise emissary and…turn in loot.
