Why has nobody fixed HG

    It's been over 48 hours and half the game (hg) still doesn't work

    This game is 8 years old and this kind of thing still happens after a patch. IN MY OPINION this is blatantly lazy and the game's currently not up to par.

    Go play any other game and these issues will not ever happen and if they do it lasts no longer than a few hours if even a day.

    I love this game a lot, but this has killed almost every pirates mojo that i've talked to and half the game is unplayable.

    I have a background in game design and these things are fixable within the day with some elbow grease but it seems that there isn't anyone doing that unfortunately.

    It's honestly baffling that my only complaint about the game is that i can't play it.

    Said no one with actual knowledge in game design.
    You don't have the data Rare has, so all you're doing is assuming it's something that can be fixed quickly, based off of your subjective view.
    Hell, I'm dabbling in game design. As in 'rock-bottom novice', and I know enough to know that, if a fix were not rolled out in 'x' timeframe; Then it's not something that can be fixed quickly.

    Or do you seriously think the developers at Rare are sitting around, sipping beer and laughing as people stop enjoying the game?

    I'm not denying that this will take more than a day in fact it's been 2 days already and counting

    i'm talking about the fact this game is 8 years in the making and is still experiencing issues where no one can even play half the game.

    I don't think rare is laughing evilly in the corner that no one can play, but i do think that compared to other games the state of this is sad and wouldn't be tolerated by other developers and at least tested before implementing the update.

    you also failed to see my point that I love this game a lot and these game breaking bugs take the wind out of a lot of people sails and that's not good for the player base and that's what concerns me the most.

    They will fix it when they fix it. They’re not sitting with their feet up over the weekend watching issues and going naaaaahhh. They’ll be hard at work isolating the issue, editing the code, fixing animations, and then putting it through QA to make sure it’s actually fixed. Once that is all done, then they can schedule a hotfix. Patience, play something else in the meantime.

    @burnbacon this stuff literally doesn't happen in other games, and if it does it's patched asap. Literally in 6 months of the other game I've been playing (The Finals), this level of bug has happened once maybe twice. SoT however? At least 8. It's ridiculous and idk why you're acting like this is acceptable.

    It is not HG, it is the entire game with up to 7 years of tech debt that they seem to prioritize less than getting new content out. If you really have enough of a background in game design to be able to fix 7 years of tech debt in a day with a little elbow grease, then i have great news for you!

    they deleted arena when only 3% of the players were playing that. hourglass is probably at about that level now if not lower. they patch once a month now. but also with them patching thursdays if they break something like hourglass i wouldnt even expect them to start working on it till monday when more reports of its brokenness have come in. then you might see an update to fix it. but hourglass is super low priority

    To be fair, there were other reasons why Arena got the axe:

    • It was separate from HS, and thus a headache to update whenever the game updated.
    • There were the majority of toxicity reports coming from it.
    • It took development time away from the main focus, which is HS.

    @guildar9194 the toxicity reports resulted in the loss of voice + text communication. I don't believe toxicity was ever listed as a reason as to why it got the axe.

    Besides, the majority of toxicity reports now probably come from HG. Not everyone is a good sport & not everyone can handle a loss; and then you have people set out to purposefully ruin other people's experience. This is something Arena dealt with; it's something HG most likely deals with; its something any PvP game with voice + text deals with.

    To the topic: I think it's unfortunate that Rare, after having neglected the feature for so long, now leaves the impression on HG regulars that major issues are going to be neglected as well.

    Your right he got me i've only ever played SoT

    Rare has horrible quality control and saying that glitches happen in other games is pretty obvious but nothing like this and for this long.

    unfortunately i'm still standing by my opinion

    heavens shake when you criticize a company like rare for basic quality control in their game

    I love how things in my original post are getting cherry picked for very petty points with no substance

    it seems all the rare white knights have missed the point that this game has been in a state of disrepair since the beginning of its release and they continue to show their lack of quality control within the game after every update.

    ahhh your right man

    It definitely wasn't nice and I should've been more respectful.

    I wouldn't say his response was productive to the discussion either and his intentions with his comments did not seem to be to further the discussion but be offhandedly rude and provoke a response just because he didn't agree with my points about the games quality control.
