You buy the game hyper, enter with an idea of a pirate you want and you start rolling… you choose one because you want to play and you are tired of spinning. After a few hours in game you decide to change pirate cause teh outfits sold do not please you on the pirate u Selector, the only option is a potion for real money. Ok you enter and after hours and hours you choose one but with the clothes and strange poses you do not realize that the body or anything else isn’t what you wanted… you return to the shop, more money and off with the carousel, this time you are hours and hours spinning and the generator always gives you the opposite of what you are looking for. Desperate you enter the next day and the day after. You did spin pirates more than what you got able to play! A week passes and you are still there losing hope. What you wanted to do was enter the game spending money on outfits and stuff for the ship not potions.
PUT TWO FILTERS for God’s sake…
filter for body type and gender. You can’t waste so much time choosing a pirate that you like.
Make the life of the players better is not that hard
That carousel is scary even if u wanna change the look in future u think twice to do it, and it would be even more money earned.
The most unwelcoming character generator
If you approach rng with hopes of getting the exact thing in your head, you are approaching it wrong. You cant imagine an exact look and expect to get it, you should think of a vague ball park you want, and save the last pirate that looks closest to what you want, then if you roll something better, lock them for selection. Then when you found something that fits your ball park character, tell your self you will roll maby 10 more times, if nothing, thats them.
For me i wanted a pirate that looks like a british thug, and i only went for ones that had what could maby be an iconic look to their face. My pirate now has a nose the size of a truck and looks like hes trying to pass out, but im so proud of the look i got because i know it is uniquely mine now. And the number of people who have stopped attacking to react to my character has really made me proud of my choice.
When you get an appearance potion you dont have to choose if you arnt finding something you like, you can cycle a few, if you dont like anything, just back out of it and it will keep the potion and can roll it again the next day. While i do think the generator could do with a male/female choice and a old/young and maby big/small slider to narrow it down a little, even with those tools you would be hard pressed to find exactly what you have in your head.
@itz-majman i like to have unique pirates as well, I’m just asking why we shouldn’t have male/female filter and body filter too. Even the bodies would be generated with unique styles as now just if u are looking for a size in particular would be easier, instead of getting muscular or skinny ones if you want just a oversized body. That way you would roll just male oversized pirates and be free to roll them in particular to pick the one you most like.
