Solo play was completely destroyed with recent update.

  • Largely Solo player, here.

I'm glad they removed one blunder wonder, it was the cheesiest nonsense in the game, and everyone used it as a crutch. Beforehand, and when multiple players boarded my sloop (both with blunders) I'd be cooked, and one shot/spawn camped constantly.

Now, fights actually last longer, and require more than pointing in general direction of the target and either nearly/fully one-hit KO. As a happy by-product, I'm very rarely spawn camped/trapped on my own ship. There is a myriad of defensive measures a solo player can utilize, to prevent boarding attempts; Blunder Bombs, traps (armed with Blunder Bombs), Bone Callers, snakes in baskets, Blunderbuss to knock players off, etc.

People relied on the braindead easy nature of one-hit kill far too much, and I'm glad it's gone, and hope it doesn't return.

  • @wolfmanbush At this point you aren't even talking about anything relating to the topic with me anymore. You're all caught up on me not playing solo often. Would it help you to know that I solo'd ~150 levels of HG? It's not like I haven't ever solo'd. It's just I don't anymore.

Anyways you can at least talk about the topic instead of discrediting me for not playing solos. I simply said what I said because your comment felt very misleading, and I wanted to add clarity.

  • @r3vanns have you tried playing with open crew? I have

Between absolutely no coordination, people randomly voting for and cancelling missions, fights in which direction the ship should be going in, and joining, dropping your anchor, laughing and leaving it's not something I would recommend.

With friends, good, open crew, a state.

I did, and I don't use it. I also didn't suggest open crew at any moment, did I?

I said don't play solo. But never encouraged open crew. What I do encourage is discord. But I thought this is a common knowledge. Especially since this game didn't come out last year. It's several years old.

Even with open crew being in a state such as it is, this is still a bad (or at the very least, unpopular) suggestion by OP. We can play semantics all day long, that won't change it.

Solo play was never encouraged by devs, and was always considered a "hard mode". The sooner everyone accepts it, the better.

  • @r3vanns you absolutely did suggest an open crew by virtue of telling them to just not play alone.

The alternative would be they have to not play, unless someone they know is online and available.

So are you telling them to play less often and live with it or play open crew?

    Neither are a good solution.

What are you talking about? What is this? Hahahah xD You need just 2 straws more to make a strawman broski, lol.

So are you telling them to play less often and live with it or play open crew?

So you have first imagined a situation of me saying something I didn't, now you've built a false narrative in which you're "defending" a poor player with 16k hours, but he wasn't aware of discord? Really???

If this was an attempt of gaslighting, it was a super poor one :'D Another word that could be used to describe this, is delusion.

I said what I said on this thread, and stand by it. Feel free to understand it however you want.

  • @r3vanns I lost interest when you started speaking like le epic gamer and using terms like gaslighting. Gg no re

  • Seeing as this thread is devolving into personal attacks, I am dropping anchor here.
