Now that the Hunters are at the outposts, do we really need the Sea Posts taking up space on the map and game memory? Merrick's family are all now in two spots. Seems to me you can remove the Sea Posts now and free up some things!
Remove Sea Posts?
Sea is still too empty to remove things from it. Better add some new functionality to them. For example, once I suggested to create a new pool of vanity items which can be bought exclusively from Sea Post shops, which should have daily limited random set of such items.

They are also used for delivery quests, Rag and Bone chests turn in and one or two are used for Tall Tales.
What could be removed are the portals though; just keep one and have Tall tales who need them only have a Dive option that brings you to that portal.
I think they should add more reasons to go to them,
but even now they are still useful even with the changes in the game. It's still more convenient or safer to use some of the seaposts, so they still are a good part of the game.
I'm still selling my fish stuff to sea posts rather than the outposts. I prefer them for immersion but also just because they are still in locations to where it makes sense for me to use them.

I just wanted to say I initially thought it was weird that they were at outposts and the seaposts, but then you got that NPC at the tavern who is everywhere at once too. Nobody really thinks twice about that.
I think it is fine. There is already content tied to teh seaposts and removing them / reworking old content would be a waste of resources IMO.

I disagree on removing the portals. Having one for each Outpost helps when we want to join a tall tale, but don't want to sail to another outpost just for that.

You could dive to the portal, probably goes faster than sailing to one as well.
Okay maybe don't remove them, but remove the Hunters Call from them, and repurpose them. Maybe they are just resupply ports where you can stock up on cannonballs and everything else without having to go to an outpost. The Hunter's being in 2 places seems weird now and I feel the Seaposts are pointless because of it. There has to be more you can do with them.
@tedakin Several Tall Tales require the use of a Seatpost, so removing them would automatically remove the Tall Tale. I especially enjoy seeing Ol Sudds at Northstar.
There is some potential in sea posts, their store can be used to sell exclusive items that rotate, from common sets to extremely rare ones, individual for each player... I have already suggested a type of lootbox (only with gold) restricted to sea posts following the same logic as exclusive cosmetics, it would be an almost infinite way to spend gold and would automatically strengthen other activities to obtain it, unfortunately it is a controversial mechanic and I don't know if it fits in a game like this.
Even so, the store can still be used, another idea would be to bring items from past seasons through this exclusive items system, it would be a way that is not so easy to obtain, but still possible. This option would give more value to the cosmetics for those who obtained them in their original time than simply releasing them in the store.
These are ideas related to the Store, but the location can be used to house any mechanic that needs a "special place", I agree that it needs a use now that Hunter's call doesn't live exclusively in them, but I think it's worth keeping them for some future use.
What could be removed are the portals though; just keep one and have Tall tales who need them only have a Dive option that brings you to that portal.
YES! Removing that would really make the seas look much better, for me it is really worth investing time in thinking about how to remove them without affecting the current tall tale system.
I miss the region-specific cosmetic shops. Maybe the Sea Posts could be where you purchase Hunters Call specific items?
Me too, this gave identity to the regions, unfortunately they complained and I doubt that this will ever happen again. But who knows, now with so many items, it might even be better to divide them by region than to have a million pages in the stores.
