This shouldn’t be a limited time event. In fact this should be a Reapers Voyage. Probably decrease and adjust loot appropriately. But fighting off a ghost fleet and defeating fort for a good haul is actually fun. This is how a Ghost fort should be. I hope Rare incorporate and improves the ghost fort to be just this…

Voyage is fine but people lose interest in this stuff very very quickly.
Once the experienced play dwindles then it's all on the inexperienced and casual play, they often are less excited for the extra effort/risk/time for eh loot.
The loot being "eh" because it's so abundant during bonus/special events that people just wait for those events to do stuff.
It's very out in the open these days. Extremely common to hear "just wait for events". Ranging from gold to rep to HG and everything in between.
Stuff is only exciting if it's rare and if it has a lot of participation, hardly anything is rare in sot anymore and participation always struggles outside of the first few days of something being new.
A weekly event for a day would do better than a voyage that people get tired of in a few days. Just don't flood the reward. Let people do it for fun as something that is a bit different to do.
I would say somewhere in between. Would happily have this come back but remember the sea forts were brought in with intention of it being a go to for quick easy loot.
I'm not massively loot orientated these days so I don't know whether they stand up to skelly camps or if they have now joined the outdated pile.
I hadn't done one yet before my first post.
Having done one now it's pretty ridiculous how much loot they just threw in a sea fort with a few ghost ships to 3 shot. I go into these things expecting it to be over the top and this one still surprised me.
It wouldn't be popular organically. That mid voyage ambush by a few more ghost ships is just annoying design in organic play.
There are a couple of alright changes but overall it's a more annoying sea fort and not unique enough to create some sort of organic boom in activity.
I don't even think it would make a good voyage. Either it would pay way too much like it currently does or would be "balanced" and just not appealing to do.
A cof in a flameheart fleet would be alright but outside of that the ghost ships just aren't consistent activity. Some like them, a lot don't do them.
Using the other cells the way they did is cool.
The whole event is ridiculously easy, so its good that its a limited event. Also that everyone has a limited amount of them is good.
That being said, a modified version of this, with much much harder difficulty, maybe more ghostships and them being active all the time so the crew needs so split to finish it. (Not good for solo players though.) And the 7 Chests of Fortune and all the other high level loot is WAY to much to have as reward for a normal voyage. Also perhaps add a beacon so other crews can see whats happening so they can try to join in an steal it.
I like the concept, and Rare is on the right track here, this fortress could be a nice addition if its an event that can not be started by players, but acts as normal world events. And with said modification above.

Unfortunately not bug-free :(
Just did one and when I finsihed the Jailor and wanted to open the last door with his key - there were two doors - one that I could open and one that was still closed and locked. The other jail (that I opened earlier) was also equipped with two doors, I had removed the chests from there but left the gold piles.
We had no double doors, (last night when we played), we had a spare key when we were done.
So yeah, there are bugs to be sorted out.
EDIT:
I think, if you do not do the fort exactly as planned there will be bugs with the doors and keys. The extra key thing happened when our crew separated. Some of us started working on the ghosts at the fort while one stayed in the ship, taking care of the ghostships. Then if the first ghostboss is killed and the new ghostship wave and the secondary ghostboss are also done simultaneously something seems to get messed up with the whole key and lock thing?Solution, do the voyage step by step?
I don't think it's a particularly good event outside of the quality of loot. And that amount of loot is too much (around 100K base if you get all three rooms, excluding the bottle voyages) for such a simple voyage.
I'd rather see them address existing world events and voyages to bring back some variety to the loot tables. They're too predictable and lacklustre because you know exactly what to expect every time you do one. Essentially, there's no dopamine hit, which is the main draw of this voyage currently because it's new and the loot is a lot.
Both of my attempts didn't provide an option to dive. When playing with another player and he selected the voyage we didn't dive until I left the game. Once he was up on the new server I rejoined. However we didn't get the voyage loot just the sea fort typical loot.
He had played it earlier in the day without any issue when I was not on the boat..
ausrakay
My duo and I have had half of our voyages bugged.
We were able to do 1 perfectly, no problems
During the second event, we were attacked by another sloop and we sunk it, while looting the sloop, the server changed and the fort became a normal one.The third and fifth we appeared without loot in the dungeon on the right.
The fourth and sixth worked perfectly.Quite inconsistent event, in the mood of season 14, an absolute disaster.
I hope season 15 doesn't destroy half of the game, as has been happening for a while now.
I have been 3 months without playing, it has given me the feeling that time has not passed, the game is still in a deplorable state.
It's also great to see that previous bugs with Limited Voyages (in December I would get the message that there weren't any limited voyages though you would get one each day - had to go out of the menu and into the voyages menu gaian several times) haven't been fixed.
I did one (bugged: double doors in two jails) a few days agao and now I have the message that there are no Limited Voyages.

At least there is some consistancy :-P
