A lot of very different ways to enjoy this experience but there is nothing like playing solo.
A lot of games/sandboxes leaning heavily into roleplay or shooter but SoT is truly as close to an adventure experience as people can find in gaming. Nothing creates more examples of that than solo organic play, where whatever happens, happens. An important step towards something that will eventually be rewarding.
You're gonna get frustrated, you're gonna hear a lot of things about the game, at some point it's going to be less exciting as things are less new. There is nothing as sweet as inexperience while on new adventures.
That's where it requires more maintenance for a quality experience.
Adapt as things change, not because you have to, because it will allow you to enjoy what you do.
The experiences and opinions of others are not yours to maintain. You can have fun even if others around you are not. You can be alright with what exists even if others aren't. It's a game and escapism, you get to enjoy that as long as you can work it out for yourself.
What goes around comes around and it takes everyone to make it whole.
Everyone you encounter is a part of the ecosystem that you benefit from. Their gameplay is essential for this to work out alright. Everything that is rewarding to you exists because we aren't alone as solos. The randomness, the risk, the thrill, the sense of accomplishment. This all exists because other people are involved. That even includes brigantines.
Right now it's new and exciting but it won't always be, but you are always in a situation to make the best out of your sessions. You do not control outcome but you always control your approach.
Welcome, and I hope you enjoy many more adventures, here and outside of here.
