Add more ways to get Doubloons!

    I do not understand for the life of me why Doubloons seem to be the rarest currency in this game. Barely anything sells for doubloons and what does sell for doubloons sells for miniscule amounts.

    This is absolutely absurd and outrageous, especially when there are so many cosmetic items in the shops now that can only be bought with doubloons and cost anywhere from 600 doubloons to 1500 to even 2500 doubloons EACH!

    Either we need A LOT more loot that sells for doubloons (and higher amounts of doubloons as well), or we need an option to purchase Doubloons with gold.

    I'm currently sitting on 29 million gold, yet I only have 1300 doubloons! This is absolutely unacceptable and needs to be fixed ASAP!

    they really rack up with reapers emissary

    most of mine came from soloing reapers a couple of years, pretty much entirely reaper chests and skulls from fleets and ashen chest stuff

    I don't feel strongly about it either way but they do add up quite a bit with specific activity, which is like gold, some stuff is more efficient than other stuff.

    It's a different currency and should not be compared to gold. It doesn't need to be fixed.

    I had an idea ages that could help with this and another issue. Make it possible to purchase humble and generous gifts. Make them expensive. Maybe 50k for a humble, 100k for a generous? (That might even be too low). Limit the number that can be purchased per day or something. That would allow someone to essentially trade gold for a small number of doubloons. A nice side effect would be to get more gifts into the world. I've been spending a lot of time server hopping looking for unoccupied burning blades and hoping that it has generous gifts in it.

    Be in reapers, then sink fleets and grab Reaper chests. They rack up real quick

    It's only currency now that is semi-non inflated and worth gathering.

    In seas of mundane when everything now is shovled up to player for fast pace stream like gameplay it's nice to have enything of value.

    What you seems to want is to quick grab dubloon and then what?
    Why fight, wy sail, wy do enything when everything is easy and on demand.

    Also - reaper chest.

    @m1ke-da-1ke I've been grinding away for doubloons since the PS5 Beta and have only made 8000ish to date. With this new update and new items I thought it was the perfect opportunity to add more doubloons especially because they just added a bunch more doubloon items. I thought the night variant fish would be a good option just because they aren't the rarest variations but arguably the most unique fish. Not only would the rarest ones stay valuable to those who don't want doubloons but because you can't get the night variations whenever you want it wouldn't flood the sea of thieves market, not to mention the lack of fishermen on the sea of thieves. So only the people who really want doubloons could take advantage of it while still keeping it a relatively rare currency by making you go out of your way to get it instead of just getting them by playing normally.

    @ghutar I don't think it's the need for more doubloons as it is more ways to get them, as of right now the only way to get any decent amount puts you on the map whether it's a reapers chest or a world event there is no real remotely efficient way to get them that doesn't put you in a situation where you have to fight over it.

    Doing the season rewards is big way to earn them.

    @burnbacon are you thinking of ancient coins? I don't remember the season pass having any doubloons, if it does it's nothing of note.

    There are 8 Doubloon Stashes, 8 Bag O'Doubloons and 4 Doubloon Trovs in this Season as rewards in the 100 levels of renown.

    Edit: found how much doubloon are in each, 8 x 5 + 8 x 10 + 4 x 25 = 220 doubloons, so almost 9 Reaper Chests worth.

    @lem0n-curry 220 doubloons is not a lot considering most desirable items that cost doubloons are either 1500 or 3000. Not to mention you could get that with 3 ashen chests with three books in them and reap or guild lvl V

    @lem0n-curry on top of that that's a one time deal you can't get them more then once. Plus they just added at least three more items worth 3000 each. 220 is a sneeze at 9000 doubloons.

    There's a very simple reason why cosmetic items are sold at high prices and in duplicate: these cosmetics were present in previous plunder passes, so there's something “rare” and exclusive about them. That's why they're so expensive.

    Players say they don't have stuff to do anymore.

    Players ask for prices to be nerfed or rewards to be raised, so they can get everything they can asap. And then after again complain they don't have stuff to do anymore.

    Players are hilarious.

    Either play/farm more, or learn to save up. Being a compulsive buyer has its consequences. Real life should've already taught you that, and if not... good luck lol
