2025 Wish list and big changes to the game

    1. Bring the dutchman out of the coral fortress along with a new faction in the dark brethren. It's been too long since we have had a new faction and I think everyone would love for duke, the gold hoarder, Davy Jones and the rest of the dark brethren to return to the game and have unique voyages. The dutchman is in the game just sitting and waiting to be fully utilized so why not finish that and do a burning blade style world event with it for the dark brethren faction. The world event could center around Jones frustration with the pirate's life and players would sink ships with the dutchman and the ability to select an emissary on the map and cause a kraken to surface on them. This is a great reuse of mechanics in the game and makes the sea more unpredictable as a result. The kraken also needs an overall so this would be great for that as well.

       2. Changes to the burning blade. I think it's safe to say that only having the burning blade in its own world event has hurt the impact it could have on the world. All of that buildup from flameheart just to only see the burning blade every once in a while. It should be a constant terror on the sea of thieves and shouldn't be shackled by world event restrictions. The event has been fun, but I think it's time to pull the blade out of that world event dock it at reapers hideout and allow any crew to come take the vessel. No AI controlling it just it being at reapers will have everyone fighting for it just like the event accept the crew in possession of the blade should be able to tackle tall tales, raids, and voyages in the game with no restrictions. You have great assets in the game already they just need to be utilized better.

      3. A new set of tall tales that take place in an area that other ships can come to as well. There are too many tall tales that have these great islands but only serve to complete the given tall tale for that area. Being able to do voyages and raids in these areas would freshen them up. Once again, a case of having great assets but they're just not utilized in a way that supports longevity with the players and makes them worth designing for the developers. You guys spend 100s of hours on these tall tales and islands it's time for those resources to be integrated into the main world.

      1. I would like to see a faction with jack sparrow sometime in the future. After the pirate's life tall tale, he uses this mysterious artifact never to be seen again as we watch the black pearl disappear. Bring jack and company back as a faction and finish the black pearl so that it's a ship that can be sailed in the actual game. People need more incentives to do tall tales, and the black pearl is a great incentive for that.

      2. Further improve safer seas and lift restrictions off of pirate legend quests for existing pirate legends. Remove the restriction that's on the fort of the damned as well. It's just a skeleton fort with a different coat of paint and loot. If you want the reward to be more in line with safer seas from the event, then just change the loot pool for safer seas to align with that.

      3. Debut custom servers in the pirate emporium. I think we should have proper private servers in the game to be able to have our friends in the same session on diff boats and doing voyages and world events just for fun. Custom servers have been in alpha for a long time, and I think it's time they go into the beta phase and make their way into players hands in the official game. No gold or rep in these servers but give players access to all of the games world events and allow us to tinker around with server settings. Spawning objects, world events, bosses, loot, and essentially creating our own fine in private with our friends. No loot just good ole fashioned fun on the seas. After all, that's why we play sea of thieves right to have fun and make incredible moments with our friends that no other games allow us to do. This would be that concept but on steroids resembling Halo custom games and bringing life and community that the game just has never seen before.

With that being said this is my long feedback and wish list for 2025 and even if one of these things comes to fruition, I think it would greatly benefit the world of sea of thieves.

Is he? I thought after the TT he was imprisoned by the ferryman...

The event has been fun, but I think it's time to pull the blade out of that world event dock it at reapers hideout

I rather it be just a random ship that spawns up, attacks players and if you sink it. Victory. No capturing.
    and other WE can spawn.

A new set of tall tales that take place in an area that other ships can come to as well. There are too many tall tales that have these great islands but only serve to complete the given tall tale for that area.

Nobody liked the idea of doing TT in the adventure servers, which is why they started making them off the main sea. (portal) that and no space for them :P

So, in short. Make SS a full HS server without restrictions.

People should have to work for it in my opinion.

Nothing more fun than having multiple crews fighting it out trying to get it, like I had tonight. I knifed a player that was pressing F on the table and managed to just stop him in time until his friend did the same to me lol.

Then we battled with the ship for the next 50 minutes or so. The burning Blade is in the game just right imo.

I do wish it never affected other events though, like Kraken. Maybe just put a radius around the burning blade where the Kraken doesn't spawn etc.

Shame other skeleton ships and forts don't attack the Burning Blade either.

We have only returned the Burning Blade to Captain Flameheart once so far, it's a good challenge especially if players keep attacking because you can't hand it in while in combat.

  • @burnbacon I didn't say give back captaincy and give safer seas players emissary rewards, did I? I mean emissary and captaincy are the pivotal high seas features. The FOTD is like not an event that always constitutes pvp and if you're going to add the games og world event to safer seas which is what they did with the skeleton fort then a modified version of the fotd should come over. Also, I said only give people who have earned pirate legend in high seas access to the pl voyages in safer seas. This would still be far from being high seas and if these changes were implemented players would still choose high seas besides more people playing the game is what's important not sticking being stubborn and sticking to things that they said a year or two ago. The games player base is dwindling, and we do need major updates like pirates' life that look to restore that excitement. Yes, Davy Jones is in the ferry of the damned, but he can be freed and that's one piece of the narrative I wouldn't mind them ignoring because I think the flying dutchman coming to the game as a counter to the burning blade along with the dark brethren is just too good of an opportunity to ignore. I mean it is pretty much already in the game so it's not like this would be a tall order for the team they would just simply be reskinning a world event that's in the game with a ship that has more presence to it than the burning blade and front cannons. I just want them to utilize the content that's already in the game in better ways.

  • @captdirtyoar Its good the way it is but it's not great. The current implementation really limits what the crew of the burning blade is able to do. For years people asked to have a new ship like the man o war, well we finally got that with the burning blade but not in the form of say a selectable ship in the menu or it being docked at reapers for the taking. So, the long request of actually having a new ship has not been fulfilled yet because it's stuck to the confines of world event rules. So, you can't do tall tales, voyages, go fishing, fight skeleton ships, etc. This means that if there are no players that wish to seek out combat with the burning blade then the only option the crew of the blade has is to farm skeleton camps. Skeleton camps are great and fit the theme but are fairly mindless and quick. For players who grind the event regularly this quickly gets old and the alure of the blade starts to dwindle. Furthermore, the story implications replied that when flame heart brought the blade back it would severely affect the sea of thieves. Posing as a threat to players on the waves at all times. Instead, its addition has barely changed the world but if it's brought out of the world event you can still do all of those things you like but more. It would make an already good addition to the game great.
