Blowpipe menu accessed by holding weapon equip shortcut key

  • I would love to get a faster way to get to the darts selection by holding the shortcut key to switch to the Blowpipe.

Currently if I have a Sword and the Blowpipe equipped, by default, pressing "1" & "2" keys will switch between them. But it would be great if we could hold "2" to bring up the menu instead of having to attribute a new shortcut key. If the Blowpipe is not in hand, it could bring the dart selection wheel and equip the weapon upon releasing the key, allowing us to select the type of dart first without having to reload a second time.

I guess on controller, it can work in a similar way by holding "Y" while having the Blowpipe in hand it could bring the selection wheel, but the fast switch from another weapon to a specific dart should not be possible to prevent conflicts if any other weapons have multiple ammo type.

The same principle could be applied to :

    • the bait selection wheel for the Fishing Rod
    • the shanty selection wheel for Music Instruments
    • the Canonballs and Throwables selection in separate wheels
    • a new Food selection wheel

This should be togglable in the Gameplay settings under something like "Object specific selection wheel accessed by holding equip shortcut".

  • I'd just prefer if the blowpipe dart had a setting that makes it not keep changing its dart type every time it runs out of one dart type. I have found the constant switching off putting - I just want to use the explosive dart type many of a time now and it runs out and now I'm using poison or lure. If that could be done it'd go a long way.

In the same fashion, why can't we bind multiple settings to the same key?
Sure indicate us that it's already in use but let us do it anyway. You could also make it so we can bind mutliple tools to the same key and cycle (like for instruments).

  • @unblinkingmass7 you're in luck, they have now added this
