Captaincy and using open crew

  • Give players who own and are using their Captained ship an option to forcibly kick AFK farmers and griefers.

Had it on open crew, because sometimes you can meet some awesome people, and some dude joined, sunk the ship and left!

Also would be great to penalize players who do this garbage, such as lock them out a half hour for unsportsmanlike conduct.

  • This is already topic 381,281 with this same 'idea'. So let me give you a summary of the previous topics:

    1. All crewmembers are equal (rule of the game), so this idea goes directly against the rules of the game and is therefore already not allowed.
    2. This wouldn't be helpfull against grievers, this would be helpfull FOR grievers. You now give them a tool to kick players just before they cash in the loot and waist a lot of time for those players without seeing any benefit.

There is also already an AFK timer with auto-kicker.

For handling a griefer you already have a simple solution: just leave the session and start a new one. You can then invite back in the crewmates who weren't griefers. It's realy simple and it doesn't give griefers anymore tools to grief and also wouldn't go against the rules of the game, wich your idea would absolutely do.

  • You can also report players over toxic behavior with the in-game report in case of griefers just make a recording of the events and take note of report id.

  • Give players who own and are using their Captained ship an option to forcibly kick AFK farmers and griefers.

So...if I am a legit players...what stopping said pirate "Captain" from just kicking me "because my friend wants on"

Had it on open crew, because sometimes you can meet some awesome people, and some dude joined, sunk the ship and left!

    Yup. There it is.

Also would be great to penalize players who do this garbage, such as lock them out a half hour for unsportsmanlike conduct.

What more unsporting? Kicked from a crew because I either, didnt listen to the captains crazy orders and demands. Or went afk.
How about spending a good hour collecting loot and the Captain decides to kick me from the crew because...they can.

  • @afloatwheat717 Unfortunately, open crews attract the lowest dregs-of-the-earth pirates you can find. Not always of course. But odds are against you have a great crew.
