I think we can all acknowledge that a lot of the tools that have been coming out have been a little lackluster or could use some work. Give me your thoughts on the changes that I am suggesting
Scatter Shot:
-Remove damage cap, you already need to hit all 4 projectiles to deal more damage than a cannon ball why limit it
-Remove all vertical variation in the scattershot spread. If it just spreads out horizontaly it could actually hit things instead of some of the projectiles going over and under the ship that you are aiming directly at (think of a horizontal line of projectiles rather than a circle)
-I would add 1 additional projectile but idk
Double Barrel Pistol:
-A lot of early DB weapons in history had 2 seperate triggers, I suggest the DB postol be like this
-Remove double shot, it won't be needed with these changes
-Remove delay between 2 shots (maybe just significantly shorter like 0.3 seconds)
-Decrease reload speed due to needing to pull back both hammers
-(I don't know if this would make DB pistol viable, but it should make it feel less clunky)
Throwing Knife:
-Throw is pretty solid at this point, maybe more velocity
-Stab, make it deal more damage or faster attack speed. It's DPS is pitiful
-Heavy attack, make so you move at full speed or at least faster than it is now so you can actually use it mid combat
Blow Dart:
-Mimic Dart?
-Maybe I am crazy, I haven't rewatched the announcement trailer, but didn't they mention something about the lure dart causing ship noises if you hit certain areas (like anchor dropping if you hit the anchor)
-Make so poison stacks in duration if multiple darts hit, at the moment there isn't any value to hitting a second poison shot other than resetting the timer
-Make so diffused explosive darts have a longer timer before despawning
-Darts are the sneaky weapon, make so you can use the blowpipe while hidden as a chest. Press secondary interact and you go into first person where you lift the lid of the chest slightly and then you can shoot a dart out. Let us be goofy with it
-Make so you have an amount of darts 10ish, and allow you to allocate how much of each dart you want, for balance let's say you can have no more than 6 of 1 type
Grapple gun:
-Honeatly I have been enjoying it in PvP more than I thought I would, However it is only really useable against crews of lower skill level
-Conpletely remove the ability to harpoon ships. Right now it feels so clunky and unintutive for using on ships. Make it for PvP or make it for PvE, right now it doesn't quite fit in either well (Still alright in PvE)
-1.5-2x the range
-Make it an equipment in the radial wheel, not a weapon
-The philosophy is to make it a good tool for island traversle, but not for PvP
-LMK what your thoughts are on this
Disguises:
-When you are a chest, you should be able to be picked up by a player, or at the very least harpooned. Maybe make your feet stick out the bottom while being held so a teammate could spot a fake chest when you are holding it
-When you are a barrel, other players should be able to interact with you and open up your inventory. I think this would be really funny.
Siren Fruit:
-Make so you don't pull it out when pressing your food hotkey, has already gotten me killed
-IDK about this but make so eating a raw siren fruit ends the enchanted siren fruit effect and spawns a mermaid for you. This would be a tool to get out of mermaid hell.
