I think it would be fun if Rare did a Last Man Standing Hourglass Event for 2-3 weeks next season.
Each match would be random and depend upon player count and open spaces in a server. One match might be a 1v1v1 ship battle, the next match might be 5 ships battling it out.
The number of ships that could be present would be a max of 5 of course, but it would be rare, unless a bunch of open adventure servers existed. (so if a server had 5 open slots, then this could happen). The minimum would be 3 ships to participate.
Once a ship is sunk, they are server hopped and the remaining ships keep battling it out. Those that remain get a decent boost for every ship that is sunk if they hit that ship with cannonballs at least three times. That way, someone can't just sit at the edge and run and expect to get global rep. (more caveats could be considered). No Emissary flags will rise up until one ship remains, then all the other flags from the battle will rise up.
In order to participate, they need to be a Pirate Legend and buy a new HG Trinket upgrade from Larinna that can be activated on the quest table, so after you select the LMS Raid, you then vote on HG and it allows you to compete in that mode.
I think this would be a fun way to change up the 1v1 aspect for a limited amount of time and hopefully bring some new fun encounters into HG. Those that want to continue with only 1v1s can do so, and those that want to engage in a multi-ship battle all while being confined to the circle can.
LMS HG Event
@europa4033 Arena was time based, in it's own unique servers, and had people handing in chests and a scoring system. They also had unlimited lives and did not need to stock up on supps. If you sank, you were also still in the match. This mode has 3-5 ships, number varying every match, fight until they sink or are the last one still afloat in the HG circle.
Also, cheaters ruin every piece of content after awhile.. regardless if it's PVP or not.
This is nothing like Arena, unless you specifically look at the number count of boats, which I already stated 5 would be rare and the fact that it's PVP.
I also specifically stated "adventure servers" which is what High Seas is/was.Could a ship hit another ship with just 3 cannonballs and wait it out? Also, could players queue up with their guilds and team up against other ships?

Sounds like Arena...

I can see a lot of "Hey wanna work together so it just the two of us?" and ganging up on other ships.

Hit a ship 3 times, not difficult, so you hit and run. Now what?

So....no real requirements
multi-ship battle all while being confined to the circle can
Arena.

I must of played a different one. It had its own servers yes, but nobody handed in Chests. If you touched the chest, both your crew and others would bully you until you quit or contributed to there made up rules of TDM.
They also had unlimited livesand did not need to stock up on supps.Hourglass you dont need to stock up either.
@europa4033 I mentioned caveats. Rare would need to do some balancing. Also, no. It's a LMS HG match with multiple ships. It's not a team fight, so no guild team ups.
