pretty simple, just vote to dive to the arena tavern and, much like hg, you spawn in the arena tavern with an opposing crew that matches your crew size. You win if your team gets a certain amount of kills. after you win you'll be able to leave the tavern and see your ship docked nearby. Other players can intervene by going into the arena tavern since it won't be locked. You will respawn far quicker than usual (maybe not even using the ferry) and will have to acquire food from various places around the tavern.
TDM diving
There was that adventure where we had the ghostly sea dog tavern in a pocketserver - it could just be that with the sole purpose of TDM. Not only would this provide the opportunity for TDM on demand, it'd also remove all of the people from adventure and HG that arent really interested in naval fight and just want to practice close combat.
I want this badly and they should bring back the Sea Dogs for players who partake in this mode. That way they have a "Trading Company" to click into to find the icon to vote on for diving, since they can't really use the HG. I think having a place for TDM is what this game has needed for a long time now. Throwing new players into a TDM will more than likely be easier for them to manage and find fun with, rather than dumping them in the deep end of HG, which I find most new players don't like because of the massive skill gap of needing to know naval, weapons, wind, etc. This TDM would be a massive stepping stone for players interested in PVP HG, but who want to try the shallow end of the pool first.
I propose they also have a few TDM maps that they create. Start with the Tavern, but eventually add a few "new" locations that we can dive to.
