Well today I let someone on my boat first thing they did was blunder me off and yeah that need to go... I rather get one shot and able to save my boat then to get blunder off my boat every time I try to get back on it. This new blunder is so bad I just gave up. Its not fun nor is it fair for other player like me that do sniper and sword. This new game place isnt fun. I just see people leaving the game because the fun is gone. To say this again the one blunder was fine this is just worse. If it says like this I'm quitting this season because it not worth the grief. Well once I hit 100 I'm leaving till next season.
New Blunder needs to be fixed the knockback is way to strong.
The issue they have is they nerfed smaller crews and buffed bigger crews with this weapon.
Assuming they keep the -no one shot- design there is nothing they can change that makes it better than it was for smaller crews and especially solos.
A bigger crew never needs the one shot, smaller crews do.
If they nerf the knockback it still leaves it as a completely pointless weapon for small crews/solos vs experienced crews.
Where it largely bothers me is the messaging. "Defense" could not be further from what this weapon actually is. It's a buff for larger hostile crews that don't need the one shot.
If everyone was keeping it real here and just owned up to this being people not wanting to get one blundered then would be whatever. This is a worse and largely pointless weapon now for underdog crews. The "defense" thing isn't real.
This is about people that lose a lot not wanting to be one blundered (understandable) but it doesn't make their situation any more realistic.
and social media crews that wreck sloops and casual crews not wanting to get wiped when a big dog crew shows up.
That's what this is and why this weapon is now pointless in SoT for underdogs in tough situations.

yes, it's not fun, it doesn't make you want to give up and get back on the boat, it just makes you want to quit the game.
Largely will just get underdog crews to avoid combat even more imo.
The game is still a quality adventure experience but combat is leaning more and more toward being very buggy and unfun for smaller crews and crews that take risks (as the game intends)
and more into just handing wins over to larger crews that already get a lot of the wins anyway because there is strength in numbers.
On one hand they are trying to push combat more and on the other they are making combat less appealing for a lot of players.
This will be one of those things that people deny for a long time until it gets addressed again down the road.
Challenge is fun/rewarding, dice rolls where the odds get worse and worse with patches isn't a challenge, that's just subjecting oneself to worsening odds for even less reward.
People can (and will) just cheese stuff when they can because fighting for it has never been less appealing than it is right now if a crew isn't stacking the deck in their favor.
The blunder just changed from a weapon that could lead to a camp into a weapon that will not get people out of them anymore. That's gonna show a lot and become more and more of a frustration for crews/solos as time goes on. The camps are still gonna happen.
@krimzon25 100%. The new knock back is way out of control. Rare removed the popcorning from blunder bombs several seasons ago because it was knocking people off their ships way too often. Now we have the blunderbuss knock back and it's worse. If you are a smaller crew or solo you are screwed and will be stuck in mermaid hell trying to get back to your boat if you get knocked off. I was ladder guarding my ladder over the weekend to stop a boarder and he did the ladder juke and STILL managed to knock me off the damn boat before climbing up with his blunderbuss. If Rare has to add this change just to counter the harpoon gun coming out we have an issue. Gee I can't wait until people also have "on demand" boarding capability. This was a horrible change and there was a reason it got fixed back in the day with blunder bombs. Same idea...
I would much rather be one blundered.

I wasn't as concerned as others about the grapple before this was changed.
Them having this change right before the grapple gun is viewing combat in this game through the lens of a brig crew that wants to continue to easily dominate servers.
I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt for the brig being so OP in speed against sloops for 2 years before it was even acknowledged.
The combat decisions in this game clearly cater to larger crews but specifically the more popular brig crew that just wants to win all the time in non-challenging scenarios.
Removing power from smaller crews and then calling it a defense weapon, to me, is as damaging to the combat risk/reward environment as so many people denying the OP brig speed for so long was, before it was acknowledged.
A grapple gun being added to this will be very unpleasant for smaller crews that play in challenging ways. Even if they get the boarding exploits under control (that's a big IF) it's still going to be very unpleasant for a lot of players in this game. Specifically solos and underdog crews.
It's unfortunate because I know there are partners that have experience in challenging solo fights. If there was ever a time for partners to have influence in decision making it should be for stuff like this, in favor of not making it more and more unpleasant for smaller crews.
