Rewards for HourGlass

  • If I am being honest the reputation system for hourglass is not the best. Rather than having the reputation system be that of merit it is that of time. ( and if I am honest luck) I could be circling a ship for ten hours and get more reputation than if I fought and loss in a short amount of time. One suggestion I have is to have the rep gain be by actions taken. An example would be if you crack someone's mast it would give you rep and if you damaged the hull or wheel same thing would apply. Another one is to have deeds that gain rep win or lose. An example would be to take down a mast or brake a wheel 5- 20 twenty times.

I love sea of thieves and would hate to have people quit the hourglass or even the game entirely because the rewards for hourglass truly aren't helping the player and it feels more like a kick in the teeth than a fun mode.

  • anything to breathe life into this boring game mode

  • I'm 130 in SoTF and 100 in GoF. I've finally finished playing HG and I am going to list some ideas that I think would be beneficial to the game mode as well as ideas from other members on the forums I agree with:

    (1) a rep/deed system to earn extra experience to make the grind less tedious for the curses
(2)reduced arena size to make it so that there will always be engagement from players.
    (3) add a 15 minute timer where when it runs out and neither ship is sunk, both blow up.
My favourite idea is the timer, because other than cheaters, the worst type of player is the runner, the one who will waste your time not fighting in the hopes you quit out of boredom. Cheaters will always be in the game, and there will always be work around, but the time wasters just don't engage in the mode and I can wholeheartedly say after I once went up against 3 cheaters back to back that I'd rather deal with them than time wasters.
