Changes in the Rewards for the Sea of Thieves Programs

  • Good morning, if may I be so bold, when the change in the Sea of Thieves Insider program rewards came to light, I felt, and I believe everyone else in my situation, somewhat left out. This feeling came about because today, players who join the program go through a journey of just one year until the end of the rewards instead of the 4 years (211 weeks) that were previously required. Since Sea of Thieves has always had the habit of rewarding in case of drastic changes like this, I wonder why an extra reward was not developed, with simply a trinket from the Sapphire Blade ship, since today there is already one from the Silver Blade, which would be nothing more than a recolor. However, it would already promote a sense of dedication and reward given the game time needed to reach the 211 weeks.

I would be very grateful and happy to see something being developed for all those who reached the 211 weeks before the change, as was the case with the Golden Legend set, Overachiever, Golden Sovereign Quest Table, etc.

Hugs from Brazil, Mauricio K. Neto.

  • Your main job as an insider is to test features. The rewards are just a thank you for your first year or so. Afterwards you are basically “hired” and should focus on helping the dev team patch out any bugs for retail.

  • Never been an insider but rewards for a little time rather than some sort of goal requirement doesn't make sense to me.

We all know what's happening. They are offering free status stuff for some free testing but it's pretty clear that people are sitting more than testing and some are hoarding exploits.

I dunno what all goes on in there but I know that they aren't gonna get quality testing (as quality as free qa testing can be) with afk rewards.

Should be more about the contribution than the status or how long someone has been around.

and I don't have any problems with the "free qa testing" thing because it's probably a big part of why the game generally isn't terrible for the consumer, free updates, emporium is just cosmetic, no pay to win, etc. Anything that helps the game stay that way is overall better for the consumer, even if it's so buggy/exploity all the time. Probably just needs a bit of a more efficient and effective design imo.
