Some people like their ships having a "The" when seen through a spyglass, though not all people like having the "The" appear on their ship crest, or sometimes there's not enough space for it. A simple idea that could work is having a captain be able to toggle whether or not they want their ship to have an added "The" when seen through a spyglass. It's just a silly idea, feels cool though. The Burning Blade does this technically, as it's crest doesn't have a "The", while the world event thing does, so it's not within the realms of impossibility.
