World Events swarm whilst trying to engage in PVP

  • So many times when me and my friends play this game do we lock in to PVP only to have multiple skeleton ships and a megalodon thrown into the mix. Why!?

pve is part of the pvp and pvp is part of the pve

I do think that they could work in a system that is more personalized for preference so pve stops getting nerfed over and over again.

The most realistic way to go about that is probably a feature for higher chances of the server's pve. Like chum for megs and some sort of beacons for skelly ships. To send a bit more pve to someone like me and a bit less pve to someone like you.

  • @chevorelli Because it's a PvPvE game.

I just wish it was more consistent and balanced.

Like when I'm solo and engaged with a Brig or Galleon...the game chooses to spawn a Skeleton Galleon...on me...the solo.

If you're going to spawn PvE during PvP, spawn it on everyone equally 😊

  • @sweetsandman My experience has been PVE spawning on me as im chased by sweat lords. I can't EVER, EVER, EVER just play adventure without getting chased down by sweats and megs spawning on me. Why I never Ever recommend this game to anyone.

I find it hard to believe that you cant ever ever ever just play adventure without getting chased down by sweats and megs spawning on you. We must not be playing the same game.

What I do believe is that you don’t recommend this game to other players, because I’ve seen you say that more than once on these forums.

So you don’t like the PvE spawning near you, and you don’t like the PvP coming to you
what exactly do you like in this lovely PvPvE game called Sea of Thieves?

  • @gunnner1 not sure if it's your region, or time of day you play, or what...but when I do some PvE sessions, I don't encounter other crews at all. Like it's insane to me when people say they can't ever avoid PvP.

Open world. Player va player vs environment
    You know
it happens because it all part of the game and makes things less dull

  • @chevorelli lots of ships around each other increases the chance of emergent spawn because it could be on any of the ships involved. It can get pretty hectic but as others say it's a mixed environment you can't do any in isolation without risk of other

  • Because that's the core of the game, player interaction driven by and interrupted by the environment. Just like in games like DayZ where you could be in a shootout with a player and get ganked by a zombie. If you want strict PvP without the environment interrupting there's games for that as well. Even if Rare were to introduce a middle ground where you can enable less interruption, the other player might have opted in for more instead.

  • I’ve had this too, in combat with a fellow sloop and been invaded by a meg and a skeleton ship all at once, why doesn’t the game detect when you’re busy and not swarm you? I think a player battle, a meg and a skeleton ship is a bit much.

Since you asked, I'm a collaborative person by nature. I enjoy forming alliances and working with multiple boats to conquer world events or sink skeleton galleons. This past weekend's community event promoting alliances, I absolutely loved.

The problem I have is that my "region" (I'm on East coast US time zone) mainly seems to have aggressive players that, all anyone wants to do is sink each other or spawn camp. It's OK every once in a while, but I always run into aggressive players within 20 minutes of starting, every time I play. Hard to call this game an adventure game when people just want to fight and nothing more.

My solution has been to avoid all other boats, but then I don't get the collaboration I look for.

I don't know how regions are divided, but my region certainly has aggressive PVP. I've noticed also, when I start a voyage, the voyage always seems to pick islands where other boats are already present. I always try approaching Diplomatically, but since I usually don't fire until fired upon, well, I'll just say I'm good friends with Davy Jones at this point
