Disconnection timer

  • For me the game is practically unplayable because I often have to take a break even in the smallest missions to look after a sick family member. During this time the connection to the game is always lost.
Would be nice if the disconnection timer could be set to an hour that would be enough in the most cases.

  • Servers need people doing stuff as an online multiplayer game.

I afk a lot as a solo for personal responsibilities. Typically I work in moving the mouse around (now I use a controller) to give myself a few extra minutes as needed but if it doesn't work out I'll catch a lazybeard or sleepybeard sometimes and lose the session (as I should).

Imo if it's a situation where someone can't work in moving around the mouse or joystick for a few extra minutes then that's quite the afk and it's best for space to be made for active players.

Family comes first. If the game is unplayable or bothersome because you have to take care of family, it best to forget about the game and take care of the family. Nothing else is ever important than family.

That being said, as above. Hour timer is over kill, you can try emoting, holding down a button or something else to try maintain that active player movement.
    But I have to ask...

What is your next complaint, when your AFK for say Hour if there was a longer time and someone comes along and sinks your ship when your away...

  • In the time i have played the game in past view days i often had digged out a couple of treasure chest, placed them on my ship an was disconnected after 10min of, why this small duration in a game where I sailed 30min straight without doing anything ?
Iam not complaining that my ship gets hijacked or sunck actually that happened a lot too and its Fun and is part of the game but getting disconnected and meaninglesly loosing everything is not.
Maybe iam making a variable macro to prevent disconection.

Macros are against ToS so I wouldn't do that.

I wouldn't do any of the MacGyver strategies to keep characters moving either.

Either you can get to the game to prevent a disconnect or you can't.

I would try to just work it into your routine. Walk by and move your character. I do time management/multitasking without alerts but you could set a timer as a reminder or whatever if that helps.

Try to find a crew or crewmate who don't mind to sail with one persom less for a bit; then you can rejoin them when you've taken care of the family member.
