Players shouldn't come back 3-4 times after sinking to the same people:

  • Since playing from the release date of SOT, I have learned to PvP naval & regular player v player fighting, to get good is an understatement when the game will spawn the same people next Island over for them to come back 3-10 times when they have sunk to me those 3-10 times. Why is there not a system where these people get moved to another server after a 3rd or 4th sink within a time span? Or at the very least it register they have sank to the same people all of those times to then get moved to a different server. I spend 4 hours fighting the same people for one fort because they keep coming back, why is there not something in the game to prevent that? It's a waste of time.

Why didn’t you finish one fort while sinking the same ship over and over? You clearly established you were better so you should have easily finished the fort, grab the loot and moved on. What gives?

Also, that part of the overall fun. Fort battles should always be engaged and fought over. A single fight or even. 3rd shouldn’t mean anything
As the rule goes, loot isn’t yours until you see that gold. So the battle isn’t really won until you claim it.

  • Pretty much everything is "start over" friendly now.

As much as people don't like "get a new server" advice it's the best advice that there is for issues like this.

The amount of stress that people can prevent by just moving on is very significant.

I do it. If people get to a point where I find it obnoxious I just bounce. Super easy to start over and overall it leads to way more progress than fighting for a server. No servers are really worth it anymore.

Play without the ego clashing and play to enjoy the experience and it all becomes very manageable without many issues.

  • Agree 100%. With diving mechanics and "scuttle to new seas," there's no reason why if you get sunk thrice by the same crew inside of an hour you don't get shunted to a new server. It would prevent this type of trolling.

  • @burnbacon They spawn the next island over and come back right away, and are decent players, on a Sloop crew, we need both people on the ship to fight good players. There were 2-3 waves done before those same players came back 4 times. It was a FOF, that is not just a 5 minute regular fort to "easily finish the fort, grab the loot, and move on"

  • @burnbacon So if players are spawning, the exact next island right next to us, how is that not a game fault? And if it isn't the game mechanic, then they were not only Silent Boarding exploiting, but they also are spawning right next to us all those continuous 4 times, could be another exploit? Do those people just need to go buy lottery tickets? There's no way they get that good RNG. If it isn't merging them to a new server, they should be thrown into the devils roar then to take long enough to come back, because this isn't just the first time that this has happened.

  • @burnbacon Here is the full context, we sink them once, they spawned back right next to us another island over, we sink them again, they spawn back at another island, right next to this fort once again, the third time, they finally took a few more minutes to come back, but this time they tried double boarding instead of naval, they fail, they fight, they lose, they come back a 4th time, imagine? Right next to us again! Crazy. And that was finally the time where they decided to give up after that sink. We had spent up to 4 hours defending this fort that was barely touched to begin with, because a sweaty hourglass crew couldn't take a hint of honor to give up after their first sink. Now, should they have been forced to a new server after the 3rd sink? If it was up to me, absolutely. But you know what I can settle for? Them being sent to an entire other region on the opposite side of the map, so it can take them longer to come back. But the game can't even handle doing as little as that. This game is full of bugs and exploits, whether or not that WAS the issue, maybe it should be looked into. I shouldn't be defending a fort against people who can spawn back 4 time at the islands nearby, to the point where once we sink them, they are already on their way back and we didn't even get time to go back to the fort and continue to "finish the fort, grab the loot, and move on"

  • Sounds like the used the skull of siren song spawn

  • I like to think you can break a crews willpower to want to keep playing if you extend fights to very very long durations while they are in an unrecoverable situation if they have came back 3 or 4 times but some crews are built different.

All you can do with stubborn crews is keep enjoying sinking them or sell and hop.

I'd think it would be fair to have a 3 strikes your out system in place but that sounds difficult to implement.

  • @vaughnsilver said in Players shouldn't come back 3-4 times after sinking to the same people::

All you can do with stubborn crews is keep enjoying sinking them ...

And it's glorious. Sailing with my full crew, I love it when a crew wants revenge.

  • Yeach crew that was spamengaging you just abused the Skull of Siren Song Voyage.

I reall don't know why they didint patch that exploit yet.
