Does anyone know how Hour Glass works?

  • Like the specifics.

Does a Grade 5 flag (in reaper bones or Athena) get you a multiplier on XP towards Guardians or Servants?
Does each consecutive win get your more xp? If so how much? Is a Grade 1 win half the XP as a grade 2 win? 50% less? Is a Grade 4 win worth more than a Grade 3?

And what about lowering hour glass? I know its worth more gold the number of wins but what about XP towards leveling up? Like is a 4 worth more than a 1? If so how much? Also is a 5 worth more than a 4? or is 4 the ceiling.

Does anyone know how Hour Glass works?

  • Just 1 point of reference, I just lowered a win streak 3 hourglass did not get a noticeable XP boost compared to a lvl 1 Win Streak. Especially not 3x, I will lower a 1 streak to confirm this.

Officially, nobody knows how Hourglass works, with the amount of complaints and confusion players have about its use. ^_^

    No.

Does each consecutive win get your more xp?

As in, if you win matches in a row, does the exp double? "The higher your streak, the more Allegiance you will earn for sinking an enemy faction ship." Key word is enemy faction.

I believe the whole Grade thing is pointed toward, Loot on board when you defend and win fights, & able to fight bigger ships regardless of what you sail once Grade 5

But above all, it better to fight the opposite faction.

  • @mrgreen1290 this link from the Reddit SoT community might help some.

The flag doesn’t increase your HG rep but you do get company rep. So now that we all need to get to 500 it’s beneficial for that reason.

The link will show you how the XP grows and caps with each win and when it would be most beneficial for you to lower based on your win record.

This is VERY helpful. Thank you!

Consecutive wins will increase the amount of Allegiance you get per win, and the increase maxes out at 4 wins. So your 4th win will reward more Allegiance than your 3rd win, etc. You also get a pretty decent Allegiance bonus for ending your hourglass run at one of the tables on the Outposts; this bonus is also determined by the amount of wins you have on that streak.
