Bring back run of thieves haven!

  • It’s really hard to get the ghost ship setup when there are little ways of getting the Athena gunpowder keg but when that voyage came out people were able to get the commendations easier and I know I’m not the only one feeling this way! And the Meg event would be cool too I only have the drum

  • @wolfmanbush but with fof you have the whole lobby after you and even then it has a chance to appear but with thieves haven it was atleast one or 2 from the voyage its just better and the PlayStation players never got the chance to do it

    I think it would be cool to add them randomly to captain digs

    and 1 in athena fort raids.

    but I'm pro mega keg in general, I think they make the game more fun to have around.

  • @wolfmanbush exactly if they just added one to a raid voyage for like the skeleton forts and the armada it’s a scarce resource for needing 50

  • Thieves haven runs didn't have a guaranteed chance of getting athena keg, the emissary quest does unless they've changed it. I think Mike Chapman on twitter mentioned they didn't want voyages that would dive to specific locations

  • @hiradc Would still be nice for Thieves Haven to return for those that didn't get the achievement yet. I never got to do my run of Thieves Haven before the quest rework also. And if they don't want people diving there, how bout you have to sail there, but not dive?

    I did enjoy the focus on Thieves Haven though. Cool island, great for PvP fights having a known island as a focal point.

  • I’d love to see it and the other removed voyages find a way back into the game eventually. The search for black powder voyage, the captains stash voyage, etc… I loved doing the captains stash voyage because it was literally a surprise as to what you’d get. Digging up a trident was such a weird mechanic lol

    I’m hoping they will revamp thieves haven and bring it back. The biggest reason people didn’t do it was the amount of work didn’t go well with the rewards. So redoing the loot pool would make it interesting again.

  • They should definitely bring it back with an updated loot pool! Would love more options for Athena voyages

    In that case, also reintroduce the Run of Wanderer's Refuge and Run at Shipwreck's Bay (make them Athena instead of Reaper) add one for The Roar and have the voyage be random across these.

  • Thieves Havens runs were barely better than normal Athena runs and they were extremely boring to do. Bouncing between 3 different islands and it took a long time.

    If you want Athena kegs, do FoF. You get 2 each time; while thieves runs barely gave 1 and took 3x the time.

    Thieves haven runs were the last dance of the wild west in SoT voyaging. Everything after that became more balanced and appealing.

    I have a mountain of memories from thieves haven runs so I look back on them fondly overall but they were very intense in organic play.

    They also brought variety - instead of doing several standard or Ashen Athena voyages in a row, you could do a Thieves' Haven Run once in a while.

    I think they mainly got a bad rep because loads f crews did them a lot to get the commendations and other crews might got in their way - people knew what you were doing if you were sailing around those islands with a green and red light 😁.

  • Yeah I can promise you if they brough back Thieve's Haven runs it would not be the way to get Athena kegs lol. These voyages were beyond miserable and long and only got you 1-2 kegs. Lvl5 Emissary quest and FoF are far far more efficient.

  • I want it to return only because after i finally got the only commendation out of it that i wanted and it was no longer a grind, i started actually finding it fun. The reason they removed it was cause they didnt want to give people the power to dive where they want to go, but you can already some what do that with tall tales which throws that logic out the window. If they really want to keep people from diving to thieves, all they have to do is bar the dive option for it like they bar the sail to option for raids.

    I really dont see the issue with keeping the thieves haven voyages since the only issue with them can be fairly easily fixed, the only thing they need is a revamp of the loot you get and they would be perfect.

    The simplest answer is to bar/restrict diving in that voyage, even though you can already dive to plunder right next to it with ease, so i dont see the real issue with that.

  • Please bring back the run of thieves haven, it was a favorite to many who solo Sloop wanting to raise athena rep !!!
