So.. when Blunderbuss nerf?

  • Like the post says, when do we get a nerf to Blunderbuss to drop its damage down to 90-95 so it no longer 1 shots in addition to its knockback effect and realistically is the only viable weapon to PvP with?

  • Why nerf a weak weapon?
    Built for close combat, and main purpose for boarding defense.

  • I don't think i needs a nerf.
    Of course its a strong weapon, but it can easily be outplayed, when you know how it works.
    It can only oneshot when you are standing very close to your enemy and when every pellet it actually registered.
    So when the enemy uses it, keep your distance until they shoot.
    And the oneshot also makes it possible for new players to not get completely destroyed, so its a good weapon for them as long as it oneshots.

    Making it 90-95% would just make it useless, the gun is useless at everything else.

  • @winterwolf8824 It was already nerfed. It doesn't need another one.

  • Not against this or for it, I would just start using different weapons if it ever came to it, but the blunderbuss is the best defence for ladder guarding as it stands and I've seen numerous posts about adding more things to help with guarding ladders, so I can't imagine this being a good decision with that group of people in mind that already struggle against boarders, and newer players that haven't sussed the other weapons yet

  • There is no when, only an if. But if they do, all they have to do is reduce every pellets damage by 1 and it will do 90 damage, and make it so its knock back doesnt apply unless half the pellets land.

    If they did those 2 things it would be pretty well balanced, but if they just fixed the knock back applying from a stray pellet then i would be pretty happy with it still.

  • I already feel like the knockback has been nerfed it is so inconsistent. Its fine where its at, you play distance or sword hop for quick direction change to force a miss.

  • I think the Blunderbuss is overpowered only in close combat where it can one-shot opponents. In contrast, the sword can’t one-shot. What's the point of sword then? In other situations Blunderbuss is bad.

    The bigger issue is the respawn mechanics. When you respawn and an enemy is waiting, they can one-shot you repeatedly with the Blunderbuss. This makes the game frustrating. The problem isn’t the weapon itself but the respawn points. Also, ammo for Blunderbuss can be replenish from enemy ship.

  • like many have said, blunderbuss only advantage is your chance to one shot at very close range. it is inconsistent and if it doesn’t work, you’re in trouble. if we remove the one shot ability, might has well remove it from the game. you can mitigate the blunder by keeping your distance as much as possible.

    My main issue is not about it getting nerfed to the ground, but the fact that so few pellets that you cant even see your self move when hit counts as a knock back, which makes no sense, and it sucks that a sword lunge can be stopped from a stray pellet from a blunder snipe a mile away, or you can get knocked off a ladder from 1 pellet.
