Card Games and Five Finger Filet

  • I know it’s been mentioned before but just a couple of mini-game ideas to promote player interactions and add a bit more variety to smaller activities.

  • I have always been all for card games, board games, real dice games (not just emotes), and 5-finger-filet.

(I have no idea) I think the biggest argument against these games is the possibility of international legal issues regarding gambling in video games? Not to mention this game is tied in with Disney and they have a say about things. (Though Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean Online back in the day had Blackjack and Poker where you could play with other players at a table and bet gold. It was f%#ing awesome.)*

(I'm not positive) I think the 2nd issue is they don't want to distract players with card games and keep them on the oceans staying engaged with the other players. However.. fishing, questing, and Safer Seas already do that.. honestly some card games wouldn't hurt and would prove to be an awesome social tool.

The 3rd possible issue (again, I'm clueless) is that the programming is probably too complex for their team, especially when they have other issues they should focus on

The 4th and most realistic reason in my mind is that there's a possibility players may use gambling to trade gold. I know because I used to do that in other games. I would bet high amounts of gold and then fold to pay other pirates for their services. The moment you allow a reliable form of trading, you invite illegal gold farmers who sell large amounts of fake gold for real money.

That being said, I will continue to suggest adding gambling in this game until I die because I have a problem.
