Pirate ships no longer repair their ships.

  • Hello, There's something that really ruins the game for me, it's the fact that AI pirates no longer repair their ships. There's less challenge and I find it a bit lame. Is this a deliberate decision by the developers, or just a bug? Thank you.

    It's in the "probably a bug but stays around so long it feels like an intentional change" category.

    With megs and other stuff as well.

    Maybe some of this will get fixed or changed back at the end of the month but who knows.

    I've seen meg bugs last literally years lol

    There were a few fleet/skelly ship ones that lasted a very long time too.

  • @wolfmanbush Is it not due to the arrival of the PS5? Do they want to make the game more accessible? In any case, I hope I'm wrong, because it removes a lot of the gameplay.

    Tell that to all the players who complain about "Being to difficult" things get nerf xD
    But pretty sure it been confirmed to be bugged

    Taking a wild guess, the harpoons will not be able to grab players who have the blunder equipped for some unknown reason, or masts will be immortal.

    Another fun exercise: what things are going to break and be fixed within the first month, and what things will break, never be fixed, and just become part of the game. See: hit reg, buying supplies, funny launching, and the captains log books.

    In answer to your question; my guess is, the skeleton summoning throwable won't work on one of the ships properly, and the skeletons get stuck in their surroundings, and be invulnerable. However, they will still shoot at other players, becoming a permanent defensive addition to your ship. Smart players will figure out how to glitch them in the side of the boat, near the ladder, making ship boarding almost impossible. There will be an "emergency" patch 2 weeks later to fix it, along with the unbearable lag and crashing that will come with the new season. During the 2 weeks before the patch is released, HG will be especially affected. However, since HG is bugged, it only affects a small portion of the community, and Rare will tout this in a video: "Only 9 out of 10 ships are affected by this bug!"

    As for the permanent addition to our little game, I say there will be a way to position yourself on the harpoon that launches you thru the air at a great rate of speed, and for long distances. However, this will never be used for mischief by the community, so it doesn't really matter anyway...
