Dual Mechanic for 1vs1 fight

  • Basically, one ship request dual to another ship, and it starts only if that ship accept it. If one ship manages to sink another ship, lost ship would be sent to another session. I know moving session was discussed before a lot of times. However, there was a time that I was fighting against one ship for Fort of the Damned raid. Although I was able to kill multiple times, he came back every 5 min, and it was nearly impossible to do my raid. I think dual mechanic would be really helpful for this kind of situation when multiple ships fight for one thing. Since both ships have to accept the dual, there would be nothing like surprise attack with gunpowder barrel. Also it gives more advantage for one who is accepting the dual, since they can prepare for their plans to fight. In my opinion, it is fair enough for this considering that ship who sends dual are more likely to be people with more confidence in pvp skill.

  • So.....basically no PvP unless one consents? No thanks.

  • Basically, one ship request dual to another ship

    So...Hourglass.

If one ship manages to sink another ship, lost ship would be sent to another session.

    Hourglass...

However, there was a time that I was fighting against one ship for Fort of the Damned raid. Although I was able to kill multiple times, he came back every 5 min,

As it should be. Combat should be "endless" when doing World Events, its an never ending battle for Loot.

nearly impossible to do my raid.

Nearly impossible is not Impossible. and "My raid" where did you Claim ownership?

Since both ships have to accept the dual, there would be nothing like surprise attack with gunpowder barrel.

Then...nobody accepts... (I feel this guy has been surprised attacked too many times and its upset them)

In my opinion, it is fair enough for this considering that ship who sends dual are more likely to be people with more confidence in pvp skill.

Thus removing Pvp from PvPvE game....unless its active. No Thanks.

  • Player 1 suggests duel. Player 2 refuses. Player 1 sinks player 2 anyway.

    Toxicity ensues.

  • @pithyrumble

From what OP suggests, no combat between ships can happen unless Both ships accept.

  • @burnbacon no, there can still be fight between ships like normal. But the only difference is this dual that lost ship would be sent to another session so repetitive spawn fight would not happen.

  • @burnbacon said in Dual Mechanic for 1vs1 fight:

I didn't say anything about matchmaking system. This is system that can be used during normal adventures.

If one ship manages to sink another ship, lost ship would be sent to another session.

    Hourglass...
    Yeah... matchmaking system

However, there was a time that I was fighting against one ship for Fort of the Damned raid. Although I was able to kill multiple times, he came back every 5 min,

That's the problem that I faced with, if two player wants a same thing during world events and fight for endless times. It would be another repetitive boring experiences. I think there should be a system that separates those players so one can actually win. Not just endless combat experiences.

nearly impossible to do my raid.

Nearly impossible is not Impossible. and "My raid" where did you Claim ownership?
If you ever did fort of the damned raid, I collected requirements to activate the raid, so I said "my raid". Other world events are random, so I didn't say anything about that.

Since both ships have to accept the dual, there would be nothing like surprise attack with gunpowder barrel.

Then...nobody accepts... (I feel this guy has been surprised attacked too many times and its upset them)
Why would you think nobody will accept? I think it is fair if both players want to have same thing and they don't want fighting "endlessly" with newly spawned ships. Also I thought that both players should acknowledge that there will be a fight that possibly moves you out of session. Otherwise, it will be very unfair to get just blown up by barrel and there is no chance given to revenge. I am not saying this should be accepted during every pvp experience, it would be just another method to resolve problems with current spawn system.

In my opinion, it is fair enough for this considering that ship who sends dual are more likely to be people with more confidence in pvp skill.

Thus removing Pvp from PvPvE game....unless its active. No Thanks.
I don't know why pvp is removed with this....
