Crashes after game update (Xbox PC app) (FIXED)

    Game crashes to desktop after 30 minutes without error. Everything was fine before the update.If anyone has the same problem, please post here.

    I thank everyone who viewed this post and wrote about their problems associated with this error. Thanks to you, the developers noticed us.

    Mine has crashed 20 times past 2 days. Using Xbox store version on PC

    10 seasons with little to no issues! First update for season 11 i had to re-install the game. Wouldn't load. After it worked fine. This update, gamepass / pc, crashes to desktop about every 20 or so minutes. I am hearing, from pirate friends, that it was suggested by RARE that people should delete the game BEFORE installing this update. If that was true i am not sure why they didn't just write in code to uninstall the previous version first. At 100 gb it was the entire game.

    Will be uninstalling the game and then running this update to see if the problem is fixed.

    I would not uninstall until rare officially admits that it is a known issue. we all know it is... my pirate friends who did uninstall before doing this update are also experiencing this problem as well. i was crashing during a session and they did not experience any issues when i first came here looking for answers. it is a random crash. you could play for hours without issue and then the next session you crash about every 20 to 30 minutes. i deleted the game last night and reinstalled. Did not change anything.

    I also have the same problem, and I was playing on pc xbox app, and i was playing with two friends, one using steam on pc, and the other also using xbox on pc, we had random crashes and when we went to rejoin it gave the hazelnutbeard error and then let us rejoin

    Same issue. I updated NVIDIA drivers. Sometimes when I come back from a crash, it will give me "Hazelnutbeard" error shortly after loading back in. So basically I have to hit "Rejoin last session" twice to get back in.

    I redownloaded the game like skid said and I am also getting the crashes, so that has no effect. I can't even play the game.

    Yep, same... I was trying to dive for skelly forts for commendations since I can't naval at all with the crashes. But even that is too annoying to deal with. I'm out until they fix this issue. But since they haven't even acknowledged that it IS an issue, I guess I'll be done till next update.

    Came here looking for solutions, i play with 3 other friends and they keep getting dc each 20-30 minutes also. They play on Microsoft Store, my game is from Steam and i don't have this issue. Yesterday we had the most disappointing experience of our lives in Sea of Thieves, killed a Ashen boss and when the loot showed up, another brig showed up too and my friends started to get dc one after another.

    They need to fix this. I have counted and ever since the update came out I have crashed 37 times. Sometimes I would crash then load back in and crash right away. I definitely think it's a microsoft problem because I have it on that but my friends that have it on steam don't seam to crash. Rare please fix this issue.

    I just tried to uninstall easy anticheat and still didnt work after reinstall

    I have a temparoy fix, just go into task manager and end easy anti cheat background process

    It's happening on xbox too me and one of my crewmates crashed at the same time when loading into an hourglass battle today the only player left on-board was our steam player!

    I'm about ready to uninstall this game between the dumbing down of pve across the board making the game too easy and boring to the constant bugs and crashing making pvp unenjoyable the games no longer fun to play, the challenge of learning to fight each skeleton type and the risk of losing everything to a skeleton galleon or another crew made the game exciting now the only risks are other players because there's a chance you will crash to dashboard and lose everything to unstable coding! PlayStation players won't enjoy it they are some of the most hardened gamers out there and will NOT respect having their hands held especially if the game doesn't even work correctly

    Same issue for 2 days. Updated everything, lowered to directx11, repaired game (no sorruption found), integrity check, tried the end task anti-cheat. still happening. this is crazy

    The same for me and most of friends. Using Xbox store version on PC, Win10, PC full update, uninstall and re. When uninstalling, I'm pretty sure some files are not removed.

    Win10 windows store version, repaired game, end task anti-cheat, directx11 or 12, etc. Nothing works.
    This is unplayable.

    Same for me and my friend, both use the MS Store version, both tried reinstalls/file checks etc. CTD every 5 to 10 min.
    A friend on Steam has no issues.

    trying to do hourglass is impossible because my game crashes halfway thru the match every time, does anyone know when this is gonna be fixed?

    Are you all running Nvidia GPUs? I wonder if this issue could be exclusive to NVidia users, or if AMD is also having this problem.

    I'm running a GTX 1660 Super 6GB.

    Crashes always after 15-20minutes since the update, tried all the solutions I could find even re-downloading the whole game, nothing helped.
    Playing on AMD System and a friend of mine (MS Store too) had only one crash after hours and has a Nvidia card.

    I only play from time to time and sadly missed the last Community weekend, after reading there will be another one so soon I was really happy but now I can't even play the damn game.

    **Possible solution to the problem.

    1. Launch the game.
    2. Open the task manager and find the EasyAnticheat service process and close it (end task).
    3. Keep playing.
    4. Author of the idea @a-maynze(A Maynze), thank him if it worked.**

    I've been playing for over an hour and it seems to work

    PC version closes to desktop randomly after latest update did not have problem before. Some times i get hazlenut beard trying to get back in. I am running amd hardware 5800x cpu 6700xt GPU latest drivers.
