Upgrading reapers

  • I understand that reapers is all about high risk high reward but I feel like they have gotten the short end of the stick especially with golden sands(port Merrick) getting fully upgraded. I feel like it'd be fair to at least give reapers a little upgrade as well. Nothin drastic, like they could add a harpoon tower to reapers just like every other outpost, or possibly add a ship right where they can buy more supplies or repair their ship at reapers, hell they could put that kinda stuff on the other island that isn't being used. I also feel like it'd be a nice shake up if reapers got their own voyage which could be their equivalent of a veil where they face the ancients or phantom Athena ships or something.

  • add a harpoon tower

They have the easiest way to deliver loot. One location and it’s a straight path. No need for the harpoons, and that’s also part of the risk

add a ship right where they can buy more supplies or repair their ship at reapers

Why buy? When you can steal it. That is the reaper way. Story wise, reapers shouldn’t care about repairing there ship.

  • @burnbacon yes that's true but nowadays most people know if a reaper has got their loot or loot in general they only have one option to sell at reapers for the bonus, so it can be easy to stop them from selling I get that's the point but I feel like compared to Athena and the trading companies they got the shaft a little when it comes to a "home base"

  • I'd be up for it getting a bit of a face lift, but things like harpoon towers and ship rights aren't needed especially for the ship right because reapers are supposed to be the enemy so it wouldn't make much sense that a ship right with access to same cosmetics as the other ship rights set up shop there because of law reasons. But maybe they could start to build it up a bit more like a sea fort. As for the voyage I dunno how I feel about that, the reason I mainly sail for reapers is because it's supposed to be a PvP faction, and you already get enough people running it and complaining they just want to level the faction up when you come to fight them.

  • @killedbymisfire Have you checked Reaper's hideout after getting the skelly curse for SOF? There is a lot going on down there...

  • @i have I just mean for the ship or supply and selling aspect of the top of reapers would be a little nice

  • @on the ship right i wasn't saying it'd be the company of the ship rights It could function like the ship rights like have the warsmith there or another reaper representative or a member of the dark brotherhood

  • Any Reaper worth their mask knows you bring a Harpoon rowie and drag it right up to the Servant's living room.

Don't forget, Reaper's Hideout you can turn in everything except fish and Skull of Siren's Song. Including delivery items intended for a specific NPC.

Pretty sure there is a ship cosmetics chest there already. Aaaaand not to get into the "Reaper Rules" arguments, but Reapers shouldn't be buying supplies lol.

  • I hope not i like simplicity of hideout on surfece and it complexity down bellow. I hope they dont ruin it.

  • @killedbymisfire we had our chance to expand the reaper faction and the community supported the pirate lord.

    There will be chances

  • I want to believe with the return of Captain Flameheart, his first order of business will be to fortify the hideout to a proper fortress. I mean, he dragged all the sea forts from the sea of the damned, can't he bring a harpoon for junior? Hourglass is called the war for the Sea of Thieves after all...

Mechanically, yes, it's easier for the other factions to sell. So I think for balance (I won't said "fair" because reapers is just another trading company to me) it should be faster to sell there as well.

I mainly sail for reapers is because it's supposed to be a PvP faction...

It's not "supposed to be the PvP faction," that's what Servants and Guardians are for. It is an increased risk (show up on map) increased reward (everything gets multiplied and sell flags) trading company. It happens to attract more PvP because if I can see an R5 on the map I know they got some loot for me to steal, but that's a side effect of the increased risk/reward proposition more than the intent ever was IMO.

Servants and guardians are still fairly new, Reapers was around quite a while before them. You can't get flags with out PvPing and what's the point of marking yourself on the map and having the ability to see other emissarys on the map if the intention isn't PvP. Plus theres all the law around burn the sea of thieves and trading companies, the whole thing including the story is geared towards fighting other players. I'll word it better. Reaper's was supposed to be the original PvP faction

  • Should have a bonfire spot on the opposite side of where the tent is

People can bring a bunch of planks and build up a big bonfire to party at.

It's in the middle of the map, can create encounters, be a chill spot after a hunt

    add some stoves

add a new feature where people can set up fireworks to be set off into the sky by the bonfire

The point of marking yourself on the map is to get the 250% multiplier for every treasure type... risk versus reward.
