Reaper emissary and outpost

  • Compared to the lore of Seas of Thieves I don't understand why a Reaper emissary has the possibility of selling his loot to an outpost. This is not normal, the outpost should attack him or whatever. A Reaper emissary shouldn't be able to set foot on an outpost

In terms of lore, it might be a bit offroad to have this happen, but it makes the sandbox experienc more smooth.

As for people with reaper emissary selling at outpost, its not beneficial to them. This is likely a "so its dangerous to bring this loot to Reaper's, so we sell here". This is self sacrifice to mitigate the risk or avoid it. A great choice not many are willing to take. For those of us who hunt them, this is our loss, something we arent use to, but we should accept, as we play to make our time well spent of their money often.

Im a hunter so im just going to point this out. We often use our experience to find out who is doing what based memory and knowledge of what behaviour is profitable. It can probabily be quite annoying for a fresh pirate legend to lose his first voyage to a steal because we saw athena on the server and knew it was him because no one was at thieves haven and he was in the Devils roar. Its like a chess board. If someone slipped through our fingers and sold their loot to outpost instead of reapers, Thats our problem. Give him a "well played!"

Sorry if this wasnt the situation you were thinking about, but its the one that counts anyway, and let the oppritunity exist. hunters are usually winning, so i dont think this destroys the game of cat and mouse even.

  • That and chests of rage, chest of sorrow, and stronghold/athena kegs. Don't want to keep those on board too long.

    Thank you for your answer.
I know the subject more than too well given the number of hours under my belt. if you look I'm not talking about a situation here but I'm just stating a fact. Reaper is a "pvp" faction and in the lore of the game is not appreciated and does not appreciate the other emissaries found on the outposts. In addition, doing a quest these days is relatively very very quick so the loss of our day is less if we end up being robbed.
It doesn't seem logical to me to have the possibility of going to an outpost as a Reaper emissary even if it means having a second point of sale for Reaper's.

In addition, by imagining that the outposts could defend themselves at the sight of a reaper emissary this would slightly modify the mechanics of the game in the good sense of the lore

  • From a fairness point of view, a Reaper emissary should not be able to sell to the barons. only that wouldn't be bad. But not really enough compared to the lore of the game.

  • Reaper emissary has the possibility of selling his loot to an outpost

Because the GH are still greedy, OoS dont care where you got the skull, and MA want profit from anyone.

  • @burnbacon super comment !

  • @rlkaa they don’t get any bonus for selling to them...so who cares?

  • Just roleplay and apply the rule to yourself. Like mentioned- you lose the benefit of Emissary multipliers and it counting towards your Reaper level.

You'd also take back turning in a flag to Captain Boney Pants Guy that someone left game without lowering.
