  • @donallafon My AMD 7900 XTX ran fine on Saturday (first day on since DX12) but on Sunday crashed 4 times. I set back to DX11 and never had another issue for 6 hours or more of gameplay. It's not scientific yet, but if I were a betting man, SoT is having issues with AMD video cards and DX12.

I've had zero crashes. D12 w/ RX590. It could be specific generations or models that are having issues, not the entire brand. It's a bit weird that OP, using an older mobile chip and you, having a newer one, are both having issues but mine sitting in the middle is fine. I wonder which gen the consoles are using, as those seem to also be getting crashes.

Might be worthwhile to enable logging and see if anything pops up when it crashes, or check Windows Event Viewer for crash information.

  • @x-sambora-x How you set back the DirectX to 11, i downloaded some, I install and I have sill DX 12

  • @donallafon You can find some info here on changing DirectX version: https://support.seaofthieves.com/articles/17131268845970-PC-How-to-change-the-version-of-Direct3D-following-the-February-update

  • @look-behind-you Works!! :33 Love you guys, big thanks for help!!

  • @donallafon So your issues went away as well when going back? I have a pretty top of the line system.

ASUS B650E-F ROG STRIX GAMING WIFI AMD AM5 ATX Motherboard
    AMD Ryzen 9 7900X Raphael AM5 4.7GHz
    AMD Radeon™ RX 7900 XTX

I used the DDU method to completely remove my video drivers, then reinstalled. Ran DirectX 12 for an hour and had several video pause issues, framerate issues, and at one point a 5 to 7 second slow motion frame by frame issue. I switched back to DirectX 11 again, and no issues. Ran all week on DirectX 11 with no issues after my Community Days DirectX 12 crashes.
