As there are no patch notes from today's update its likely general performance updates.
I suspect a trick has been somewhat missed here though. I know hourglass is not a massive percentage of the playerbase and it certainly won't be the 'loudest' issue being raised on forums but.....
I know a lot of the more casual playerbase only participate in hg during double xp events, we usually see a spike in activity, lfgs, queue times reduction etc.
However s11 has introduced a lot of potentially game breaking bugs, certainly frustrating and sometimes one sided so this may be a large backfire by not prioritising these for fixes.
So heads up for everyone flocking to it:
People appearing on your ship while in tunnel are not hackers if they aren't moving, don't report them.
Sails may appear fully down, even when mast dropped, you won't see it being adjusted or tell when raised.
Sails may appear fully up when in reality they're not, this makes it harder to judge how much lead you need for cannons you just have to watch the ship movement and ignore Sails.
You may find you can't interact with enemy ships I.e anchor, Sails, wheel, even ammo box. Don't assume this is mutual I've lost several fights where it isn't.
