BEYOND THE BLOOD SEA

  • BLOOD SEA
We’ve all been to the blood sea and either sunk or hit the de-spawn barrier but what if you could sail through the blood sea being intensely difficult and after a long struggle of keeping your ship alive the water turns into the Dark blue water as it was before and now youve entered -

    THE GREATER SEAS
A vast ocean where islands are vast and rare to find. You’ll need to keep an eye out on the crows nest as islands in the Greater seas are hard to spot and are spread out unlike in the Sea of thieves typically you always have something in the distance like a rock or an island, whereas in the Greater seas you’ll be greeted by vast open ocean.

    THE GREATER SEAS LOOT
Once you’ve just spotted a distant island, 🏝️
Greater seas islands are filled with more valuable loot than your average sea of thieves island loot, as the islands in the greater seas are untouched or have treasure buried for centuries that are awaiting to be discovered. But it’s not all good news once you’ve got treasure.

    THE HARD PART
Once you’ve got all of your valuable loot you’ll need to travel back through the blood sea to sell it at an outpost and you will be rewarded greatly.

    SECRETS IN THE GREATER SEAS
The Greater seas are very open and vast and you can come across Rare unique location’s extremely far away like an abandoned outpost with plenty of loot for taking, or sunken ships near islands that can hold extremely valuable loot from far away lands.

DETAILS AND VISUALS OF THE GREATER SEAS

*The greater seas are very vast and islands are extremely rare but hold extremely valuable loot Majority of the time you’ll be in open ocean so you’ll have to use you’re navigational skills and keep an eye out on the crows nest

*Selling loot will mean you’ll need to travel back through the blood sea which would mean you’d need to stock up on planks to repair you’re ship for the journey back to go to an outpost in the sea of thieves.

*loot is extremely valuable from the greater seas and is relatively unknown in the sea of thieves and the process is highly difficult to sail to the greater seas. (You’ll need a lot of planks).

That my idea for rare to add I think it would benefit gameplay a ton and would be extremely fun and give you a great challenge!

  • @MrSAGGYNUTT we already know what lies beyond the shroud, it is the world as we know it.

Sea of thieves is located near the Bermuda Triangle on the real world map, it is just shrouded by the devils shroud, which basically makes it that little to no ships can pass trough especially not large ships because of the effects of the shroud (the ones that sink your ship.

But even forgetting about lore, this would basically be a map expansion which i dont see happening anytime soon

  • Tbh I haven’t really looked into the lore to much and I didn’t know it was based on irl location I thought it was all a fictional setting

The idea of it being a map expansion is true but it wouldn’t take as much effort as the base map itself so I wouldn’t really consider it a full map expansion because implementing distant islands is fairly easy in game development and having a more vast ocean is easier to implement aswell and takes little to no effort and the base game map even though it’s smaller would take years of work considering the amount of islands and underwater locations close tighter. but the idea is that most of the greater seas would be open ocean, and to stop players from going out further could either have an infinite sea which appears in lots of games out of bounds or they could add in an element like the Black Sea where the water goes black and the kraken could stop you from going out further.

  • You cant get beyond the shroud by bilging. We have tried. What happens is eventually your boat just de-spawns.

I would definitely recommend looking into the lore. The reason pirates have settled in the sea of thieves is because of a faction called the grand maritime union basically dominating the seas outside of the shroud. They are so powerful that flameheart and the pirate lord both feared them so much they had to escape into the shroud.

  • @phantaxus yes I said that at the first sentence if you’ve read the post
