Why such different sizes between the xbox version and the PC?

  • Ok, I ended up researching a bit and realized that it seems that the game is delivered in 2 resolutions… in Full HD and another in 4K. But I’ve seen a smart way of delivering content by Microsoft. Age of Empires IV does this very well, you can play an SD version and if you prefer, download texture packs for 4K. My suggestion would be in this direction. Sea of Thieves needs to be a little more accessible in this content delivery. On my xbox the download was only 35GB, but for my friends on PC it was 103GB which discouraged them even because of the time it would take to download the whole file. Anyway, we lost the weekend.

  • @ocareco SoT was only 35GB for you?! My guy what are you playing it on???

    It is tho.

So it mainly a download issue, not the size. As some households can download 100gb in a couple of minutes, but of course depends on mainly the person. Its not the games fault everyone in the living world is different.

  • @tesiccl lol actually 33.1GB on the xbox series S dashboard. That's what the system says...

  • @burnbacon No, it's not the game's fault. Its just seems a little old-fashioned to me, not offering a resolution option. Even Skyrim has a similar mechanism. I haven't met a person 50cm away from their PC monitor who used 4k textures. As a GASS game I think access is important. The faster it is, the easier it is for the player to spend time and money on it.
