Ashen Lost Shipments - Feedback

  • It's frustrating as a player who enjoys playing -in- the Devil's Roar to constantly be leaving it when playing for the Merchant's Alliance. With the new Ashen Lost Shipments I was hoping to play what is probably my favorite voyage type in what is my favorite zone. But every voyage I've gotten is a Morrow's Peak starting point and ending at Galleon's Grave or Plunder. Even the old voyages that -ended- in Morrow's Peak as a destination were more ASHEN than these new voyages. I understand you want to make these voyages lengthy but even if they seem a bit odd consider implementing north-to-south routes and vice versa within the Devil's Roar for these new and what should be exciting voyages after all the voyage text in these voyages even say the ship has sunk in the Devil's Roar yet they always seem to be submerged a few hundred yards from Plunder Outpost. Just my opinion.

  • I agree on this as I'm a huge roar fan myself.

One thing I noticed is the Athena G5 emissary quest in the roar drops only high their Athena loot from lotv which is great! However the final dig/chapter gives you an Athena keg and standard Athena chest. Was hoping for the Ashen variety because...it's an ashen voyage?

Honestly that one if it's a gold balancing issue I'd personally be happy with swapping both the keg and chest for just one ashen chest but a small bump on the chest to an ashen version would be great.

On a side note, have you done the gold hoarder ashen medley yet? Those are so good for gold and xp. I've been running that as guild so we can peel off to do the ashen bottles we find for variety and not lose too much on gold if it's a bounty Hunt etc.

In relation to the bottles, we've found the bottles that are floating in the water don't spawn as ashen quests but spawn a normal quest normally at Kraken's fall. Hopefully this can get looked at so the floating bottles in the roar give ashen quests for the roar...

  • I imagine that the Lost Shipments are still using the same routes that existed prior to S11, because there is a commendation for completing all 13 of them. Out of those 13, I think only 2 routes are completely encompassed within the Roar, and 2/3 others have routes outside of the Roar with termination points near Morrow's Peak. They are probably including these external routes for variety so you aren't running, or can't run, the same 2 routes over and over.

Maybe I'm just unlucky then. Because I keep getting Morrows to GG or Plunder. I admit while these are my favorite voyages and the roar my favorite zone I've never gotten the Morrow's Peak to Ashen Reaches or Bazaar to Traders routes before. Is there anyway to encourage those results? Placing the voyage on the table near one of those locations maybe? My sentiment still stands though I'd love to see something with like Ruby's Fall or any of the far eastern islands even if it takes us west. Brian's Bazaar to Ancient Spire would be a fun one.

  • @aprilinesilvers I think they try to select a route with a start point near your current location, so you may be able to game the system somewhat.
